This report outlines the experiences, tasks, and learnings acquired during my internship as a UX/UI Designer at TechInnovate Solutions in Santiago de Chile. The primary objective of this internship was to bridge the gap between academic theoretical knowledge and practical application within the dynamic tech ecosystem of Chile Santiago. As a rapidly developing hub for digital innovation in Latin America, Santiago offers unique challenges and opportunities for designers aiming to create user-centered solutions that resonate with local and global audiences.

TechInnovate Solutions is a leading software development firm headquartered in the Providencia district of Santiago Chile. The company specializes in creating fintech applications, e-commerce platforms, and corporate digital transformation tools. Operating within the bustling business center of Chile Santiago, TechInnovate serves a diverse clientele ranging from local startups to multinational corporations seeking to optimize their digital presence. The design team consists of five experienced designers who collaborate closely with developers product managers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Throughout the internship, I was involved in multiple projects, each offering distinct learning opportunities. My primary responsibilities included conducting user interviews creating user personas mapping customer journeys designing wireframes and highfidelity prototypes conducting usability testingand participating in design reviews.

4.1 User Research and Analysis

One of the most significant aspects of my role involved understanding the local market. Chile Santiago has a unique digital landscape where mobile internet usage is prevalent, but desktop engagement remains strong for financial transactions. I conducted interviews with users in Santiago to understand their pain points when using our client's banking app. This research highlighted a need for simplified navigation and clearer visual hierarchy, which informed subsequent design iterations.

4.2 UI Design and Prototyping

I designed the interface for a new feature allowing users to track expenses in real-time. Using Figma I created lowfidelity wireframes that evolved into highfidelity prototypes incorporating Chilean color preferences and cultural symbols where appropriate. The focus was on accessibility ensuring that the design met WCAG standards while remaining visually appealing.

4.3 Usability Testing

I facilitated usability testing sessions with participants from various socioeconomic backgrounds in Santiago This feedback was crucial in identifying friction points in the checkout flow of an e-commerce platform. By iterating based on this feedback we improved conversion rates by 15% during the pilot phase.

One of the primary challenges I encountered was adapting to the fast-paced agile methodology used by TechInnovate. Initially balancing speed with quality was difficult Another challenge involved dealing with ambiguous requirements which required proactive communication and clarification skills Additionally integrating feedback from senior designers who had different perspectives on usability versus aesthetics required adaptability and openmindedness.
