Frankfurt am Main stands as a pivotal hub for finance, logistics, and industry in Europe. As the "Mainhattan" skyline evolves with green skyscrapers, the demand for sustainable mechanical engineering solutions is unprecedented. This poster presentation explores how advanced mechanical systems can reduce carbon footprints while maintaining operational efficiency in one of Germany’s most densely populated urban centers. The focus is on integrating Industry 4.0 principles into legacy infrastructure, a challenge particularly relevant to Germany Frankfurt, which serves as both a historical industrial center and a modern digital innovation hub.
The primary objective of this research is to develop modular mechanical systems that can be retrofitted into existing building HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) networks without extensive structural demolition. By focusing on retrofitting rather than new construction, we align with the German federal government’s *Energiewende* (Energy Transition) goals.
