Marseille, located on the Mediterranean coast of France, represents a unique convergence of cultural diversity, historical resilience, and modern medical innovation. As the second-largest metropolitan area in France Marseille has established itself as a critical hub for advanced healthcare services. This poster presentation outlines the current state-of-the-art surgical practices implemented within major academic centers in France Marseille.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of adopting next-generation robotic-assisted surgery and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols on patient outcomes in high-volume urban hospital settings. By focusing on the specific demographic challenges and infrastructural advantages present in France Marseille, we aim to demonstrate how regional surgical teams can set national standards for efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction.

This retrospective cohort analysis included data from three major surgical centers in France Marseille between January 2021 and December 2023. The study population consisted of patients undergoing colorectal, hepatobiliary, and urological procedures.

Study Design

  • Cohort A (Control): Patients receiving traditional open surgery techniques.
  • Cohort B (Intervention): Patients undergoing robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery using the latest Da Vinci Xi systems available in France Marseille facilities.

Data Collection

Data was collected on operative time, intraoperative blood loss, length of hospital stay (LOHS), post-operative complications (Clavien-Dindo classification), and readmission rates. Special attention was paid to the logistical efficiency of surgical teams operating within the busy urban environment of France Marseille.

The analysis revealed statistically significant improvements in the intervention group (Cohort B) compared to the control group.
