PURCHASE ORDER DETAILS – ACADEMIC RESEARCHER PROCUREMENTThis Purchase Order is issued by the undersigned Academic Researcher, Dr. Tendai M. Chikafu, in the capacity of Principal Investigator for the "Sustainable Water Resource Management in Southern Africa" research project (Grant Ref: NRF-ZW-2025-0091). This Purchase Order authorizes the supplier to furnish and deliver the items listed below to the University of Zimbabwe research laboratories located in Harare, Zimbabwe. All transactions governed by this Purchase Order shall comply with the Public Procurement Act [Chapter 22:24] of Zimbabwe and the institutional procurement policies of the University of Zimbabwe.

- Delivery: All goods specified in this Purchase Order shall be delivered to the University of Zimbabwe research facilities in Harare, Zimbabwe within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of this Purchase Order. The supplier acknowledges that the Academic Researcher requires these instruments for a time-sensitive fieldwork season in Zimbabwe Harare commencing in August 2025.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made within forty-five (45) days of receipt of a valid tax invoice and confirmed delivery. Payment shall be processed via electronic funds transfer to the supplier's designated bank account in Harare, Zimbabwe. The University of Zimbabwe reserves the right to withhold payment pending satisfactory inspection of all items by the Academic Researcher and the institutional quality assurance officer.
- Warranty: All equipment supplied under this Purchase Order shall carry a minimum twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. The supplier shall coordinate with the Academic Researcher to ensure warranty registration is completed within Zimbabwe Harare jurisdiction. Any defective items shall be replaced or repaired at no additional cost to the University of Zimbabwe.
- Compliance: This Purchase Order is subject to the Public Procurement Act of Zimbabwe, the University of Zimbabwe Procurement Policy (2023 revision), and all applicable regulations of the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA). The Academic Researcher confirms that this procurement has been approved by the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
- Intellectual Property: All data generated using the equipment procured under this Purchase Order by the Academic Researcher shall remain the sole intellectual property of the University of Zimbabwe. The supplier shall not claim any rights over research outputs produced in Zimbabwe Harare.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Harare, Zimbabwe, in accordance with the Arbitration Act [Chapter 7:15] of Zimbabwe. The courts of Harare shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government sanctions, or supply chain disruptions affecting Zimbabwe Harare.
- Amendments: No modification to this Purchase Order shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by both the Academic Researcher (or their authorized delegate) and the supplier's authorized representative.
