This Purchase Order is issued by the Berlin Astronomical Research Institute to formally request the procurement of specialized astronomical instruments, observational software licenses, and professional services required to support the work of our resident Astronomer, Dr. Konrad Meier, in the execution of the 2025 Deep-Sky Observation Program. All goods and services referenced in this Purchase Order shall be delivered, installed, and made operational at the BARI observatory facility located in Germany Berlin. The Astronomer assigned to this program will be the primary end-user of all equipment and will oversee the calibration, testing, and initial operational deployment of every item listed below.
This Purchase Order constitutes a binding request for quotation acceptance and, upon written confirmation by the Seller, shall form the contractual basis for all transactions described herein. All terms are subject to the commercial regulations applicable in Germany Berlin and the European Union.

All physical goods listed in this Purchase Order shall be delivered to the BARI facility at Invalidenstraße 42, 10115 Germany Berlin, no later than 31 July 2025. The Seller is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and customs clearance (if applicable) to ensure safe arrival at the Germany Berlin premises. Upon delivery, the Seller's technical team shall perform full installation and calibration in the presence of the designated Astronomer, Dr. Konrad Meier, who will sign the acceptance certificate confirming that all equipment meets the specifications outlined in this Purchase Order.
Installation and training sessions shall be conducted over a period of no more than five (5) consecutive business days at the Germany Berlin observatory. The Astronomer will receive a minimum of eight (8) hours of hands-on training on each major instrument to ensure full operational proficiency before the observation program commences.
Payment for this Purchase Order shall be made in accordance with the following schedule:
30% (EUR 37,235.10) – due upon written confirmation and acceptance of this Purchase Order by the Seller.
50% (EUR 62,058.50) – due upon successful delivery and installation at the Germany Berlin site, subject to the Astronomer's signed acceptance certificate.
20% (EUR 24,823.40) – due thirty (30) calendar days after the completion of the first full maintenance cycle, confirming satisfactory performance of all equipment.
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the Seller's designated account. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (PO-BERI-2025-0487) and shall be issued in accordance with German tax regulations applicable in Germany Berlin.
The Seller warrants that all goods supplied under this Purchase Order are new, free from defects, and conform to the specifications agreed upon in the technical annex attached to this document. The standard manufacturer's warranty of twenty-four (24) months applies to all hardware, supplemented by the three-year maintenance contract listed in Item 06. All software licenses are granted for exclusive use by the BARI Astronomer and authorized technical personnel at the Germany Berlin facility.
All equipment must comply with the relevant European Union directives, including the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (2014/30/EU) and the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU). The Seller shall provide all necessary CE documentation and safety data sheets at the time of delivery in Germany Berlin.
Either party may cancel this Purchase Order with a written notice of at least thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled delivery date. In the event of cancellation after the Seller has commenced manufacturing or procurement of specialized components, the Buyer shall be liable for documented non-cancellable costs up to a maximum of 15% of the total Purchase Order value.
Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through amicable negotiation. Should negotiation fail, the matter shall be submitted to the competent commercial court in Germany Berlin. The governing law for this Purchase Order is the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.
