This Purchase Order is issued by the Jerusalem Institute of Celestial Sciences and Research for the engagement of a qualified Astronomer to provide comprehensive professional astronomical services within the Israel Jerusalem metropolitan area and its surrounding observatory facilities. The Astronomer shall be responsible for the following scope of work:

  1. Conducting advanced astronomical observations and data collection using the institute's 1.2-meter optical telescope and associated spectroscopic instruments located at the Israel Jerusalem observatory campus.
  2. Performing spectrographic analysis of celestial bodies, including but not limited to stellar classification, redshift measurements, and atmospheric composition studies of exoplanetary systems.
  3. Providing expert consultation and technical guidance to the institute's research team on matters pertaining to astrophysics, cosmology, and celestial mechanics.
  4. Preparing and delivering a minimum of four (4) peer-reviewed research reports per quarter, documenting all findings, methodologies, and conclusions derived from the Astronomer's observations and analyses.
  5. Supervising and mentoring junior research staff and graduate students in the field of observational astronomy at the Israel Jerusalem facility.
  6. Participating in at least two (2) public outreach lectures per month at the Jerusalem Science Museum and affiliated educational institutions throughout Israel Jerusalem.
  7. Maintaining and calibrating all astronomical instrumentation assigned to the Astronomer's workstation, ensuring compliance with international standards for optical and electronic equipment.

Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in twelve (12) equal monthly installments of ILS 53,850.00, due on the first business day of each month. The first payment is due upon the Astronomer's confirmed commencement of services. All payments shall be processed via bank transfer to the account designated by the Astronomer. Late payments shall incur a penalty of 1.5% per month as stipulated under Israeli commercial law.

  1. Commencement and Duration: The Astronomer's engagement under this Purchase Order shall commence on July 1, 2025, and shall continue for a period of twelve (12) months, concluding on June 30, 2026, unless extended by mutual written agreement of both parties.
  2. Work Location: All primary services shall be rendered at the Jerusalem Institute of Celestial Sciences and Research facility in Israel Jerusalem. The Astronomer is expected to be present at the Israel Jerusalem campus a minimum of five (5) days per week, with flexible scheduling for nighttime observation sessions.
  3. Compliance: The Astronomer shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the State of Israel, including but not limited to the Israeli Labor Law, the Privacy Protection Law, and all municipal ordinances governing the Israel Jerusalem district. The Astronomer shall maintain all required professional licenses and certifications in good standing throughout the term of this Purchase Order.
  4. Intellectual Property: All data, observations, research findings, and publications generated by the Astronomer in the course of performing services under this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of the Jerusalem Institute of Celestial Sciences and Research. The Astronomer retains the right to be listed as a co-author on resulting publications.
  5. Confidentiality: The Astronomer agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary research data, unpublished findings, and institutional information encountered during the performance of services in Israel Jerusalem. This obligation shall survive the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of five (5) years.
  6. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination for cause, the terminating party must provide a detailed written explanation. Upon termination, the Astronomer shall return all institutional equipment, data, and materials to the Israel Jerusalem facility within fourteen (14) days.
  7. Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from or in connection with this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Israel Jerusalem, and failing mediation, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Israel Jerusalem.
  8. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government-mandated closures, or acts of war affecting the Israel Jerusalem region.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order for Astronomer services in Israel Jerusalem. This document constitutes a binding agreement between the parties upon execution.
