3. Scope of Work — Biologist Services

This Purchase Order is issued to formally engage the services of a qualified Biologist to conduct comprehensive ecological and biological assessments within the Greater Brisbane region. The Biologist shall provide expert analysis, fieldwork, laboratory examination, and reporting services as detailed in the line items below. All work shall be performed in accordance with the standards set by the Australian Biological Sciences Council and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science.

5. Payment Terms

Payment shall be made within thirty (30) days of receipt of a valid tax invoice from the Biologist or the Biologist's registered business entity.
A 25% deposit is due upon acceptance of this Purchase Order to secure the Biologist's availability for the commencement date.
Remaining balance shall be invoiced in two equal instalments: 50% upon completion of fieldwork and 50% upon delivery of the final Biologist report.
All payments shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the bank account nominated by the supplier. Bank details are on file with the Queensland Environmental Research Institute procurement office in Australia Brisbane.
Late payments shall attract interest at the rate prescribed under the Queensland Interest on Late Payments Act 2013.

6. Terms and Conditions

This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the State of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved through the Queensland Small Claims Commission or the Federal Court of Australia, Brisbane Registry.
The Biologist warrants that all services shall be performed with the skill, care, and diligence expected of a reasonably competent and qualified Biologist practising in Australia Brisbane.
The Biologist shall maintain current professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of AUD 10,000,000 and public liability insurance of AUD 20,000,000 for the duration of the engagement.
All biological samples, data, and reports generated under this Purchase Order shall remain the intellectual property of the Queensland Environmental Research Institute. The Biologist shall not publish or disclose findings without written consent.
The Biologist must comply with all applicable Australian and Queensland environmental legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (Qld) and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
Any variation to the scope of work described in this Purchase Order must be agreed in writing by both parties prior to commencement of the additional work.
The Biologist shall provide a written progress report to the Purchasing Entity every two (2) weeks throughout the duration of the engagement.
This Purchase Order does not constitute an employment relationship. The Biologist is engaged as an independent contractor.

7. Acceptance & Authorisation

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to the terms, conditions, and scope of work outlined in this Purchase Order for the engagement of the Biologist in Australia Brisbane. This document constitutes a binding agreement upon execution by both parties.
