This Purchase Order authorizes the procurement of specialized Biomedical Engineer services to be performed at the Hôpital Principal de Dakar and affiliated satellite clinics across the Dakar region. The contracted Biomedical Engineer shall be responsible for the following activities:

  • Comprehensive preventive maintenance and calibration of all diagnostic imaging equipment (CT scanners, MRI units, X-ray systems, and ultrasound machines) located within the Senegal Dakar hospital network.
  • Installation, commissioning, and post-installation verification of twelve (12) newly procured patient monitoring systems and six (6) automated laboratory analyzers.
  • Development and implementation of a standardized biomedical equipment maintenance schedule compliant with the Senegalese Ministry of Health regulations and ISO 13485 quality management standards.
  • Training of at least twenty (20) hospital technical staff members on the safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and first-line maintenance of biomedical devices.
  • Preparation of a detailed condition assessment report for all existing medical equipment in the Senegal Dakar facility, including recommendations for repair, replacement, or decommissioning.
  • Provision of a dedicated on-site Biomedical Engineer presence for a minimum of five (5) working days per week throughout the contract period.

  1. This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of Senegal and the applicable public procurement regulations of Senegal Dakar.
  2. The Biomedical Engineer(s) engaged under this Purchase Order must hold valid professional certification recognized by the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Sénégal and possess a minimum of five (5) years of documented experience in hospital biomedical equipment maintenance.
  3. All work performed under this Purchase Order shall be carried out in compliance with the health and safety regulations of Senegal Dakar, including but not limited to radiation safety protocols for imaging equipment and electrical safety standards for patient-connected devices.
  4. The Supplier shall maintain adequate professional liability insurance coverage of no less than 50,000,000 XOF for the duration of this Purchase Order.
  5. Any modification to the scope, timeline, or cost of this Purchase Order must be documented in a written amendment signed by both parties prior to execution.
  6. Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the competent courts of Dakar, Senegal.
  7. The Supplier shall submit monthly progress reports to the Purchasing Entity detailing all maintenance activities, calibrations performed, and any equipment issues identified within the Senegal Dakar facility.

Note: This Purchase Order becomes effective upon signature by both the authorized representative of the Purchasing Entity and the Supplier. The Biomedical Engineer services described herein shall commence no later than the date specified in Section 1. All deliverables must be accepted in writing by the Director of Biomedical Maintenance before final payment is processed.
