The Data Scientist shall be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced machine learning models, statistical analysis pipelines, and predictive analytics frameworks that support our enterprise decision-making processes. The engagement is specifically tailored to the operational and regulatory environment of Japan Osaka, where the Data Scientist will collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning the manufacturing, logistics, and consumer analytics divisions.

The Data Scientist position under this Purchase Order requires a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in applied data science, proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and at least one major machine learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn). The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of the Japanese business landscape, familiarity with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) as it applies to data handling in Japan Osaka, and the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in both English and Japanese (JLPT N2 or above).

4.1 Scope of Work: The Data Scientist engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform all duties at the designated Japan Osaka facility located at 3-1-2 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka. The role encompasses end-to-end data lifecycle management, from data ingestion and cleaning to model deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement. The Data Scientist shall report directly to the Chief Analytics Officer of Kanto Digital Solutions Co., Ltd.

4.2 Commencement and Duration: Services shall commence on July 1, 2025, and continue for a period of twelve (12) months, subject to renewal by mutual written agreement. The Data Scientist must be physically present in Japan Osaka for a minimum of four (4) days per week, with one (1) day permitted for remote work.

4.3 Payment Terms: Payment shall be made on a monthly basis within thirty (30) days of invoice receipt. Invoices shall be submitted by the 5th business day of each month. All payments shall be processed in Japanese Yen (JPY) via bank transfer to the account designated by OAI Group. Late payments shall incur a penalty of 1.5% per month as stipulated under Japanese commercial law.

4.4 Intellectual Property: All models, algorithms, code, documentation, and analytical outputs produced by the Data Scientist during the term of this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of Kanto Digital Solutions Co., Ltd. The Data Scientist shall sign a comprehensive IP assignment agreement prior to commencing work in Japan Osaka.

4.5 Confidentiality: The Data Scientist is bound by a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) covering all proprietary data, business strategies, and client information encountered during the engagement in Japan Osaka. Breach of confidentiality shall result in immediate termination and legal action under the Japanese Unfair Competition Prevention Act.

4.6 Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of material breach, termination may be immediate. Upon termination, the Data Scientist shall return all company property, access credentials, and data assets associated with the Japan Osaka operations.

4.7 Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through arbitration in Japan Osaka under the rules of the Japan Commercial Arbitration Association (JCAA).

Note: This Purchase Order is specific to the Japan Osaka operational site. All data processing, storage, and analytical work performed by the Data Scientist must comply with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and any additional municipal data governance regulations enacted by the Osaka Metropolitan Government. The Data Scientist shall complete mandatory data security training within the first two weeks of onboarding in Japan Osaka.
