The Data Scientist engaged under this Purchase Order must possess a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modelling. The candidate must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and at least one major machine learning framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn) is mandatory. The Data Scientist shall also demonstrate strong communication skills to present findings to senior management and cross-functional teams based in Sri Lanka Colombo.

1. This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Buyer and the Supplier for the procurement of Data Scientist services as described herein. All terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
2. The Data Scientist shall commence duties no later than 01 July 2025 at the Buyer's office premises in Sri Lanka Colombo. Failure to commence within five (5) business days of the agreed date shall entitle the Buyer to cancel this Purchase Order without penalty.
3. The Supplier shall ensure that the Data Scientist is fully compliant with all applicable Sri Lankan labour laws, immigration regulations (if applicable), and professional conduct standards. The Supplier bears full responsibility for the employment relationship, including salary disbursement, statutory contributions, and insurance.
4. All intellectual property, models, code, algorithms, and analytical outputs developed by the Data Scientist during the term of this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of the Buyer. The Data Scientist shall sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) prior to commencing work in Sri Lanka Colombo.
5. Payment shall be made in monthly instalments via bank transfer to the Supplier's designated account. Invoices must be submitted by the 5th of each month for the preceding month's services. Late payments shall attract interest at 2% per month.
6. The Buyer reserves the right to conduct a performance review at the end of the third month. If the Data Scientist's output does not meet the agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), the Buyer may issue a formal notice of deficiency, allowing the Supplier fourteen (14) days to remedy the situation.
7. This Purchase Order may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Supplier shall be compensated for services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
8. The Data Scientist shall work a standard 40-hour week (Monday to Friday) at the Buyer's facility in Sri Lanka Colombo, with reasonable flexibility for project deadlines. Remote work arrangements must be pre-approved in writing by the Buyer's project manager.
9. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in accordance with the Arbitration Act of Sri Lanka. The courts of Colombo shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
10. This Purchase Order is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of commencement. Renewal shall be subject to mutual written agreement and a separate Purchase Order.
