Delivery & Logistics
All print materials under this Purchase Order shall be delivered to the Wellington Regional Media & Publications Authority receiving dock at 12 Lambton Quay, Wellington 6011, New Zealand. Delivery is scheduled no later than 31 July 2025. The supplier is responsible for all international freight from London to Wellington, including export clearance from the United Kingdom, ocean or air transit, and import clearance through New Zealand Customs Service. All packaging must comply with New Zealand's biosecurity requirements as administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). Digital access licences shall be activated and made available to the designated institutional accounts no later than 15 July 2025.
Payment Terms
Payment shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the supplier's designated bank account within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of invoice, provided that all goods and services have been received and inspected in accordance with the specifications outlined in this Purchase Order. The currency of payment shall be the New Zealand Dollar (NZD). The exchange rate applied shall be the rate published by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand on the date of invoice. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, in accordance with the New Zealand Late Payment of Debts (Interest) Act 2002.
Terms & Conditions
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of New Zealand and shall be interpreted in accordance with the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2014 (CCLA).
- The supplier warrants that all copies of The Economist provided are genuine, unaltered publications issued by The Economist Group, London, and that all digital access licences are valid, transferable to the named institutions, and free from any encumbrance.
- The buyer reserves the right to inspect all delivered materials within fourteen (14) business days of receipt at the Wellington facility. Any damaged, missing, or non-conforming items must be reported in writing to the supplier within this period.
- Intellectual property rights in The Economist content remain the sole property of The Economist Group. This Purchase Order grants the buyer and its designated end-users a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to read and reference the material for internal, educational, and governmental purposes within the Wellington region of New Zealand.
- The supplier shall comply with all applicable New Zealand import regulations, including but not limited to the Customs and Excise Act 2018, the Biosecurity Act 1993, and the Copyright Act 1994.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order by providing thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the buyer shall be liable for all goods already shipped and digital licences already activated.
- All disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the District Court of Wellington, New Zealand, or by mediation under the New Zealand Dispute Resolution Service, at the election of the aggrieved party.
- This Purchase Order constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the procurement of The Economist publications and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.
