All prices are quoted in Euros (EUR). VAT is applied at the standard Spanish rate of 21% in accordance with the Comunitat Valenciana tax regulations. Cross-border supply from the United Kingdom to Spain is subject to reverse-charge VAT procedures as per EU Directive 2006/112/EC.

Terms & Conditions of This Purchase Order

  1. Scope: This Purchase Order is issued by the Valencia Economic Research Institute for the procurement of The Economist publications, digital subscriptions, data services, and related professional engagements. All deliverables shall be provided in English, with printed materials shipped to the Valencia, Spain address specified above.
  2. Payment Terms: Payment shall be made within 30 days of the invoice date via bank transfer to the account designated by The Economist Media Group. The buyer’s bank is Banco Santander, Valencia branch (IBAN: ES91 0049 0001 5325 0000 0000). Late payments shall incur interest at the rate of 1.5% per month as stipulated under Spanish Royal Decree-Law 4/2013 on late payment in commercial transactions.
  3. Delivery & Acceptance: Printed materials shall be delivered to the Valencia office no later than the dates specified in the line items. Digital access credentials shall be provided within 5 business days of order confirmation. The buyer reserves the right to inspect all goods and services upon receipt and to reject non-conforming items within 14 calendar days.
  4. Intellectual Property: All content from The Economist, including articles, data sets, and special reports, remains the exclusive intellectual property of The Economist Media Group. The institutional licence grants the Valencia Economic Research Institute the right to access and internally share content among its 50 authorised users for research and educational purposes only. Redistribution, republication, or commercial exploitation is strictly prohibited.
  5. Warranty & Support: The seller warrants that all digital services shall maintain 99.5% uptime throughout the subscription period. Technical support shall be available in English via email and telephone during standard business hours (09:00–18:00 CET, Monday to Friday). The seller shall provide a dedicated account manager based in the European region for all matters relating to this Purchase Order.
  6. Governing Law & Jurisdiction: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, specifically the Comunitat Valenciana regional regulations where applicable. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Valencia, Spain, unless otherwise agreed in writing by both parties.
  7. Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government sanctions, or disruptions to international postal and digital services between the United Kingdom and Spain.
  8. Confidentiality: Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of all commercial terms, pricing, and proprietary data exchanged under this Purchase Order. This obligation shall survive the termination or expiry of this document for a period of three (3) years.
  9. Amendments: Any modification to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by authorised representatives of both the Valencia Economic Research Institute and The Economist Media Group. Verbal or email-only amendments shall not be binding.
  10. Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 60 days’ written notice. In the event of termination, the buyer shall pay for all services rendered and goods delivered up to the termination date. Prepaid digital subscriptions shall be prorated and refunded for the unused period.
