This Purchase Order is issued by Meridian Publishing & Media Group Ltd. to formally procure the professional services of a qualified Editor to be deployed and operational within the Nigeria Lagos metropolitan area. The Editor shall be responsible for the full editorial lifecycle of all print and digital publications produced by the company, including but not limited to copy editing, proofreading, structural editing, fact-checking, style guide enforcement, and final manuscript approval prior to publication.
The Editor engaged under this Purchase Order must hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in English Language, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related discipline from a recognized Nigerian university, and must possess a minimum of five (5) years of verifiable professional editorial experience in a publishing, media, or content production environment. The Editor shall be physically based in Lagos, Nigeria, and shall report to the company's editorial office located in Victoria Island, Lagos, on a full-time basis during standard business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM WAT).

- Place of Performance: All services under this Purchase Order shall be rendered exclusively at the company's editorial facility in Lagos, Nigeria, or at such other location within the Lagos State jurisdiction as may be mutually agreed upon in writing by both parties.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made in monthly installments of NGN 1,085,750 (inclusive of VAT) via bank transfer to the vendor's designated account. The first payment shall be due within fourteen (14) calendar days of the Editor's commencement date. Subsequent payments shall be due on the 5th of each following month.
- Commencement Date: The Editor shall commence duties no later than 1 July 2025. Failure to commence within seven (7) days of the stated date without written justification shall constitute a material breach of this Purchase Order.
- Confidentiality: The Editor shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding all unpublished manuscripts, proprietary content, business strategies, and client information encountered during the course of employment. This obligation shall survive the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of three (3) years.
- Compliance with Nigerian Law: The Editor shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including but not limited to the Nigerian Labour Act, the Copyright Act (Cap C28, LFN 2004), the Press and Other Media Council Act, and all Lagos State employment regulations.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order by providing thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of gross misconduct, breach of confidentiality, or failure to meet editorial quality benchmarks, the company reserves the right to terminate immediately without notice.
- Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall first be subject to mediation in Lagos, Nigeria. Should mediation fail, the matter shall be referred to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State, Nigeria.
- Intellectual Property: All editorial work, revisions, annotations, and creative contributions made by the Editor in the course of this engagement shall be the sole and exclusive property of Meridian Publishing & Media Group Ltd.
This Purchase Order constitutes a binding procurement commitment upon signature by both parties. The vendor acknowledges receipt of this Purchase Order and confirms its acceptance of all terms, conditions, scope of work, and payment schedules as outlined herein. The Editor's services shall be deemed fully integrated into the company's editorial workflow in Lagos, Nigeria, from the commencement date.
