This Purchase Order is issued by Al-Madina Publishing & Media House (Pvt.) Ltd., Pakistan Karachi, to engage the services of a qualified Editor for the editorial management, copyediting, proofreading, and content oversight of all publications produced by the firm during the contract period. The Editor shall be responsible for ensuring that all manuscripts, periodicals, digital content, and promotional materials meet the highest standards of linguistic accuracy, structural coherence, and adherence to the firm's established style guide.

The Editor shall report directly to the Chief Content Officer and shall be physically present at the Pakistan Karachi office no fewer than five (5) working days per week, with a standard working schedule of 09:00 to 17:30, Monday through Friday. The Editor is expected to manage a portfolio of no fewer than fifteen (15) active titles per month, including but not limited to Urdu and English-language literary works, academic journals, children's publications, and corporate annual reports.

Specific duties of the Editor under this Purchase Order include: conducting first-pass and second-pass editorial reviews; coordinating with authors and subject-matter experts; overseeing typesetting and layout approval; managing the proofreading pipeline; maintaining the firm's editorial database; and providing weekly progress reports to senior management. The Editor shall also attend all editorial planning meetings held at the Pakistan Karachi headquarters and shall represent the firm at relevant industry conferences within Sindh Province when required.

Payment shall be made on a monthly basis via bank transfer to the account specified in Section 2. The first payment shall be due within seven (7) working days of the commencement date. All subsequent payments shall be processed by the 5th of each calendar month. The vendor shall submit a valid tax invoice along with a Sales Tax Certificate for each payment cycle. Failure to provide proper documentation shall result in a 15-day payment deferral without penalty to the buyer.

  1. This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between Al-Madina Publishing & Media House (Pvt.) Ltd., Pakistan Karachi, and the named Editor, effective from the date of acceptance.
  2. The Editor shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding all manuscripts, unpublished content, business strategies, and proprietary information encountered during the course of employment. A separate Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) shall be executed prior to the commencement date.
  3. The Editor shall not engage in any competing editorial or publishing activities during the term of this Purchase Order without prior written consent from the Chief Content Officer.
  4. Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination for cause, the notice period shall be reduced to seven (7) days.
  5. All disputes arising from or in connection with this Purchase Order shall be resolved through arbitration in Pakistan Karachi in accordance with the Arbitration Act, 1940 of Pakistan. The language of arbitration shall be English.
  6. The Editor shall comply with all applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and professional editorial standards as prescribed by the Government of Sindh and the Federal Government of Pakistan.
  7. Any amendments to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by both parties. Verbal modifications shall hold no legal validity.
  8. The Editor shall indemnify the firm against any claims arising from editorial negligence, copyright infringement, or breach of professional duty during the contract period.
  9. This Purchase Order is subject to the approval of the firm's Board of Directors and the Finance Department, Pakistan Karachi office, prior to final execution.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order. This document, once countersigned, shall serve as the definitive record of the engagement of the Editor by Al-Madina Publishing & Media House (Pvt.) Ltd., Pakistan Karachi.
