Description of Services – Engagement of a Geologist for Geological Survey Operations in Zimbabwe Harare
This Purchase Order is issued by the Zimbabwe Geological Survey & Mining Authority to formally engage a qualified Geologist to conduct comprehensive geological mapping, mineral resource assessment, and environmental geology studies within the Zimbabwe Harare metropolitan area and surrounding geological formations. The Geologist shall provide expert technical oversight, field investigation, laboratory analysis coordination, and final reporting in accordance with the standards set by the Zimbabwe National Standards Authority (ZANAS) and the International Association of Geologists (IAG).

Terms and Conditions of this Purchase Order
- This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Zimbabwe Geological Survey & Mining Authority and the named Geologist upon signature by both parties. All services described herein shall be rendered exclusively within the jurisdiction of Zimbabwe Harare unless otherwise authorised in writing by the Procurement Director.
- The Geologist shall maintain valid professional registration with the Zimbabwe Geological Survey & Mining Authority and shall carry professional indemnity insurance of no less than USD 500,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order. Proof of insurance shall be submitted prior to commencement of fieldwork in Zimbabwe Harare.
- Payment shall be made in United States Dollars (USD) via bank transfer to the account specified by the Geologist. Payment terms are 50% upon successful completion of field mapping (Line Item 01) and 50% upon delivery and acceptance of the final technical report (Line Item 04). Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number ZGSA-PO-2025-00847.
- The Geologist shall comply with all applicable laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe, including the Mines and Minerals Act, the Environmental Management Act, the National Water Act, and all local by-laws of the City of Harare. Any permits required for geological surveying, drilling, or environmental sampling within Zimbabwe Harare shall be obtained at the cost of the Authority, with the Geologist responsible for the application process.
- All data, samples, core material, and reports generated under this Purchase Order shall be the exclusive property of the Zimbabwe Geological Survey & Mining Authority. The Geologist shall not publish, disclose, or share any proprietary geological data pertaining to the Zimbabwe Harare region without prior written consent.
- The Geologist shall adhere to the project timeline as outlined in the attached Statement of Work. Delays exceeding ten (10) business days without written justification may result in a penalty of 2% of the total Purchase Order value per week of delay, up to a maximum of 15%.
- This Purchase Order may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination, the Geologist shall be compensated for all services rendered and documented up to the date of termination, subject to a final inspection by the Authority's Quality Assurance team in Zimbabwe Harare.
- Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Harare, Zimbabwe, in accordance with the Arbitration Act [Chapter 7:15] of Zimbabwe. The courts of Zimbabwe Harare shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
- The Geologist shall observe all health and safety protocols as prescribed by the Occupational Safety and Health Act [Chapter 7:19] of Zimbabwe, particularly during fieldwork in remote geological formations surrounding the Zimbabwe Harare metropolitan area.
