This Purchase Order is issued by MediaCorp Publishing Sdn. Bhd. to engage the above-named Journalist for the provision of professional editorial, investigative, and content development services. The Journalist shall deliver all work products in accordance with the editorial standards of the publisher and in compliance with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) guidelines, the Press, Printing and Publications Act 1994 (Act 533), and all applicable laws governing media operations within Malaysia Kuala Lumpur and the broader Federal Territory.

All deliverables under this Purchase Order shall be submitted to the Editorial Department of MediaCorp Publishing Sdn. Bhd. at the office address stated in the header, located in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur. The Journalist is required to deliver the first investigative report no later than 28 June 2025, the feature article series on a weekly basis commencing 1 July 2025, and all event coverage materials within 48 hours of the conclusion of the Malaysia Kuala Lumpur International Media Summit. Acceptance of each deliverable shall be confirmed in writing by the Managing Editor within five (5) business days of receipt. Failure to provide written rejection within this period shall constitute deemed acceptance.
- Governing Law: This Purchase Order and all associated services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia, specifically those applicable within the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.
- Intellectual Property: Upon full and final payment, all rights, titles, and interests in the journalistic content, photographs, audio recordings, and video materials produced by the Journalist under this Purchase Order shall vest in MediaCorp Publishing Sdn. Bhd. The Journalist retains the right to be credited as the author or contributor in all published materials.
- Confidentiality: The Journalist agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all unpublished material, source identities, internal editorial strategies, and proprietary data accessed during the course of this engagement. This obligation shall survive the termination of this Purchase Order for a period of three (3) years.
- Compliance with Malaysian Media Regulations: The Journalist warrants that all content produced under this Purchase Order shall comply with the Press, Printing and Publications Act 1994, the Sedition Act 1948, the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and all directives issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Malaysian Press Institute.
- Payment: Payment of the total amount of MYR 46,640.00 shall be made via bank transfer to the account specified in Section 1 within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of this Purchase Order, subject to satisfactory completion and acceptance of all deliverables. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 5% per annum as stipulated under the Late Payment of Outstanding Debts Act 2017 (Malaysia).
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order by providing fourteen (14) days written notice. In the event of termination, the Journalist shall be compensated for all work completed and accepted up to the date of termination, calculated on a pro-rata basis.
- Insurance and Liability: The Journalist shall maintain adequate professional indemnity insurance coverage of not less than MYR 500,000 for the duration of this engagement. The Journalist shall be solely responsible for any personal injury or property damage arising from field reporting activities conducted in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur or its surrounding areas.
- Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations under this Purchase Order due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government-imposed restrictions, or public health emergencies affecting operations in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur.
This Purchase Order is issued and authorised by the undersigned on behalf of MediaCorp Publishing Sdn. Bhd. The Journalist's acceptance of this Purchase Order shall be confirmed by signing and returning a copy of this document within seven (7) calendar days of receipt. This Purchase Order constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the services described herein and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.
