This Purchase Order is issued to procure the professional services of a qualified Laboratory Technician to be deployed at the Brussels Metropolitan Health & Science Authority facility located in Belgium Brussels. The Laboratory Technician shall be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities throughout the contract period:

  • Performing routine and specialized laboratory analyses including chemical, biological, and microbiological testing in accordance with Belgian regulatory standards (SPF Economie) and EU directives.
  • Operating, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including spectrophotometers, centrifuges, PCR machines, and chromatography systems.
  • Preparing reagents, solutions, and culture media; ensuring all materials meet the quality specifications required for the Laboratory Technician role.
  • Documenting all experimental procedures, results, and quality control data in the laboratory information management system (LIMS) hosted at the Belgium Brussels facility.
  • Ensuring full compliance with the Belgian Federal Law on Working Conditions, the Brussels-Capital Region occupational health and safety regulations, and ISO 17025 accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborating with senior scientists, pathologists, and clinical staff to interpret preliminary findings and escalate anomalies to the supervising Laboratory Manager.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in strict adherence to the waste disposal protocols established for the Belgium Brussels site.
  • Participating in internal and external audits, proficiency testing programs, and continuous professional development activities as mandated by the purchasing entity.

The Laboratory Technician engaged under this Purchase Order must satisfy the following minimum qualifications:

  • A completed Baccalaureate degree (Bachelier) in Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a closely related field, as recognized by the Belgian Ministry of Education.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of documented professional experience in a clinical, pharmaceutical, or research laboratory setting within Belgium or the European Union.
  • Fluency in both French and Dutch (the two official languages of the Brussels-Capital Region), with professional working proficiency in English.
  • Valid Belgian professional registration where applicable, and a clean criminal record certificate (extrait de casier judiciaire) issued by the Brussels Judicial Court.
  • Current first-aid certification and familiarity with chemical hazard communication (CLP Regulation) as enforced in Belgium Brussels.

Payment Terms: Invoices shall be submitted monthly in arrears. Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice via bank transfer to the supplier's account. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate prescribed by the Belgian Law of 2 August 2002 on Late Payment in Commercial Transactions.

6.1 This Purchase Order is governed by the civil and commercial laws of the Kingdom of Belgium. Any disputes arising from the interpretation or execution of this Purchase Order shall be submitted to the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium Brussels.

6.2 The Laboratory Technician shall be subject to the internal regulations of the Brussels Metropolitan Health & Science Authority and all applicable Belgian labor legislation, including the Code of Labour and the Brussels-Capital Region employment decrees.

6.3 The supplier (SciLab Personnel Solutions SRL) warrants that the Laboratory Technician engaged under this Purchase Order possesses all qualifications, certifications, and legal authorizations required to perform laboratory work in Belgium Brussels.

6.4 Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice period of sixty (60) days. In the event of termination, the purchasing entity shall pay for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination.

6.5 The supplier shall maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 1,000,000 per occurrence, valid throughout the territory of Belgium, for the duration of this Purchase Order.

6.6 All data processed by the Laboratory Technician shall comply with the Belgian Data Protection Act (Law of 30 July 2018) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A Data Processing Agreement shall be executed prior to the commencement of services.

6.7 This Purchase Order does not constitute an employment contract between the purchasing entity and the Laboratory Technician. The employment relationship, if any, exists solely between the supplier and the Laboratory Technician.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge and accept all terms, conditions, and specifications set forth in this Purchase Order for the engagement of a Laboratory Technician at the facility in Belgium Brussels. This document constitutes a binding procurement instrument effective from the date of the last signature.
