3. Description of Goods and Services
This Purchase Order is issued by Manchester Regional Health & Diagnostics Trust to procure the services of a qualified Laboratory Technician to be deployed at the Trust's primary diagnostic facility located in United Kingdom Manchester. The Laboratory Technician shall perform a full range of clinical and analytical laboratory duties in accordance with the standards set by the United Kingdom's Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the relevant regulatory frameworks governing laboratory practice in the United Kingdom.
The scope of the Laboratory Technician engagement includes, but is not limited to: the preparation and processing of biological specimens; the operation, calibration, and maintenance of analytical instrumentation; the execution of haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology assays; the documentation and quality assurance of all test results; and the adherence to all health, safety, and infection control protocols mandated for laboratory environments in the United Kingdom Manchester region.

5. Delivery and Commencement Details
The Laboratory Technician shall commence duties no later than 1 September 2025 at the Manchester Regional Health & Diagnostics Trust facility, 42 Victoria Street, Manchester, United Kingdom. The supplier is required to confirm the identity, qualifications, and right-to-work status of the Laboratory Technician in writing at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the commencement date. All onboarding documentation, including right-to-work verification, DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, and occupational health assessments, must be completed in accordance with United Kingdom employment law before the Laboratory Technician gains access to the laboratory premises in Manchester.
6. Payment Terms
Payment against this Purchase Order shall be made on a monthly basis in arrears. Invoices must be submitted to the accounts payable department of Manchester Regional Health & Diagnostics Trust by the 5th of each month for services rendered in the preceding month. Payment will be processed within thirty (30) days of receipt of a valid invoice via direct bank transfer to the supplier's nominated account. All amounts are stated in British Pounds Sterling (GBP). Late payment interest shall accrue in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, applicable throughout the United Kingdom.
7. Terms and Conditions
- This Purchase Order is governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Manchester, United Kingdom.
- The Laboratory Technician engaged under this Purchase Order must hold a minimum of a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the United Kingdom's relevant professional bodies. The Laboratory Technician must also be eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- The supplier warrants that the Laboratory Technician shall comply with all applicable United Kingdom legislation, including but not limited to the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002, and the Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR.
- The supplier shall maintain adequate public liability insurance (minimum £5,000,000) and professional indemnity insurance (minimum £2,500,000) for the duration of this Purchase Order. Certificates of insurance must be provided upon request.
- Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the supplier shall ensure a smooth handover of all laboratory records, specimen logs, and quality documentation pertaining to the Laboratory Technician's work.
- All intellectual property, patient data, and confidential information generated or accessed by the Laboratory Technician during the term of this Purchase Order shall remain the sole property of Manchester Regional Health & Diagnostics Trust. The supplier and the Laboratory Technician are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
- This Purchase Order does not constitute an employment contract between the Trust and the Laboratory Technician. The employment or engagement relationship is solely between the supplier and the Laboratory Technician.
- Any amendments to this Purchase Order must be made in writing and signed by both parties. Verbal agreements or modifications are not binding.
8. Acceptance and Authorisation
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and obligations set forth in this Purchase Order for the provision of a Laboratory Technician at the designated facility in United Kingdom Manchester.
