This Purchase Order is issued by Harbour & Marine Services Ltd. to procure the professional services of a qualified Marine Engineer to be deployed and operational within the New Zealand Wellington harbour region. The Marine Engineer shall be responsible for the full lifecycle maintenance, inspection, and operational oversight of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and associated mechanical and electrical plant aboard the vessel MV Te Arawa (IMO 9482716), berthed at Wellington Harbour, as well as the port-side marine infrastructure at the Te Aro Wharf complex.

The engagement of this Marine Engineer is critical to ensuring continuous compliance with the Maritime Rules 2013 as administered by the Maritime Authority of New Zealand (MARA), and to maintaining the operational readiness of all marine plant within the New Zealand Wellington maritime zone. The Marine Engineer must hold a valid MARA-recognised Certificate of Competency (Class 1 Marine Engineer) and demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on experience in marine diesel engine systems, steam turbine maintenance, and marine electrical installations.

  1. This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of New Zealand and shall be interpreted in accordance with the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2014. All disputes arising from this Purchase Order relating to Marine Engineer services in New Zealand Wellington shall be resolved through the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand or, where the amount exceeds $50,000, through the District Court at Wellington.
  2. The Marine Engineer engaged under this Purchase Order must maintain all required MARA certifications, medical fitness certificates, and safety inductions specific to the New Zealand Wellington harbour environment throughout the duration of the contract. Failure to maintain valid credentials shall constitute a material breach of this Purchase Order.
  3. Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice from the supplier. Invoices must reference this Purchase Order number (HM-2025-0472) and the specific line item(s) to which they relate.
  4. The Marine Engineer shall comply with all applicable New Zealand health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and all site-specific safety management plans in force at the Wellington Harbour operations area.
  5. Harbour & Marine Services Ltd. reserves the right to terminate this Purchase Order with fourteen (14) days written notice if the Marine Engineer fails to meet the performance standards outlined in the attached Service Level Agreement (SLA), or if MARA New Zealand Wellington issues a compliance directive requiring replacement of the appointed Marine Engineer.
  6. All work performed by the Marine Engineer within the New Zealand Wellington maritime zone shall be subject to quality assurance inspections by the Project Manager appointed by Harbour & Marine Services Ltd. No variation to the scope of this Purchase Order shall be valid unless confirmed in writing by both parties.
  7. The supplier warrants that the Marine Engineer shall not be engaged in any conflicting duties with other operators within the New Zealand Wellington port authority jurisdiction during the contracted period.
  8. Confidentiality: All technical data, vessel specifications, and operational records accessed by the Marine Engineer in the course of this Purchase Order shall be treated as proprietary to Harbour & Marine Services Ltd. and shall not be disclosed to third parties without prior written consent.
  9. This Purchase Order does not constitute a permanent employment relationship. The Marine Engineer is engaged as an independent contractor through South Pacific Marine Engineering Solutions Ltd.

By signing below, the supplier acknowledges receipt of this Purchase Order and agrees to provide the Marine Engineer services as described herein for the New Zealand Wellington location, in full compliance with all stated terms, conditions, and regulatory requirements.
