This Purchase Order authorizes the procurement of specialized Meteorologist services to be delivered in Tanzania Dar es Salaam and its surrounding coastal and inland regions. The contracted Meteorologist shall provide comprehensive weather forecasting, climate impact analysis, severe weather warning systems, and advisory services to support agricultural planning, maritime navigation, aviation operations, and disaster risk reduction initiatives across the Tanzania Dar es Salaam metropolitan area and the broader Southern Grid region.
The Meteorologist engaged under this Purchase Order is expected to hold a minimum of a Master's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences, possess at least eight (8) years of professional experience in operational meteorology, and maintain active registration with the Tanzania Meteorological Practitioners Board. The Meteorologist shall be physically present in Tanzania Dar es Salaam for a minimum of four (4) days per week during the contract period.

- Delivery Location: All services under this Purchase Order shall be rendered at the designated meteorological stations and offices located in Tanzania Dar es Salaam, including the Mbezi Beach Weather Station, the Kigamboni Coastal Monitoring Point, and the Ministry headquarters on Samora Avenue.
- Contract Duration: This Purchase Order is valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of issue, commencing 1 July 2025 and concluding 31 December 2025, unless extended by mutual written agreement.
- Payment Terms: Payment shall be made within thirty (30) days of receipt of a valid invoice from the Meteorologist service provider. Payment shall be processed in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS) via bank transfer to the account designated by Equatorial Climate & Weather Solutions Ltd.
- Performance Standards: The Meteorologist shall adhere to the operational guidelines set by the Tanzania Meteorological Authority and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards. All forecasts and advisories issued for Tanzania Dar es Salaam must be submitted no later than 05:00 EAT for the daily bulletin.
- Confidentiality: The Meteorologist and all associated personnel shall treat all government data, satellite imagery, and internal communications as strictly confidential. No data pertaining to Tanzania Dar es Salaam weather operations may be disclosed to third parties without written authorization.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with thirty (30) days written notice. In the event of termination, the Meteorologist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
- Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam in accordance with the Arbitration Act, Cap. 23 of the Laws of Tanzania.
- Insurance: The Meteorologist service provider shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum coverage of TZS 500,000,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge and agree to all terms, conditions, and specifications outlined in this Purchase Order for Meteorologist services in Tanzania Dar es Salaam. This document constitutes a binding procurement instrument under the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2011 (PPADPA) of Tanzania.
