1. Purpose of This Purchase Order

This Purchase Order is issued by the Accra Metropolitan Health & Rehabilitation Centre to formally engage the services of a qualified Occupational Therapist for the provision of in-patient and out-patient rehabilitation therapy at our facility located in Ghana Accra. This Purchase Order constitutes a binding agreement between the Buyer and the Vendor for the specific scope of Occupational Therapist services described herein. All terms, conditions, and deliverables outlined in this Purchase Order shall govern the professional relationship between both parties for the duration of the contract period.

2. Scope of Services – Occupational Therapist

The Vendor shall deploy a fully licensed and registered Occupational Therapist, holding a valid practising certificate from the Ghana Health Service and the Ghana Association of Occupational Therapists, to deliver comprehensive therapeutic interventions at the facility in Ghana Accra. The Occupational Therapist shall be responsible for the following duties:

  • Conducting individualized assessments of patients with physical, neurological, and developmental disabilities requiring occupational therapy in Ghana Accra.
  • Designing and implementing evidence-based Occupational Therapist treatment plans for stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, paediatric developmental delays, and orthopaedic rehabilitation.
  • Providing adaptive equipment training, fine motor skill development, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining to patients at the Ghana Accra facility.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapists, speech therapists, and medical doctors to ensure holistic patient care in Ghana Accra.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and progress reports in accordance with Ghana Health Service regulatory standards.
  • Delivering a minimum of 40 clinical hours per week, including 8 hours of administrative and documentation time.

4. Payment Terms
  • Payment shall be made in monthly instalments within 30 days of receipt of a valid invoice from the Vendor, processed through the Buyer's accounts department in Ghana Accra.
  • A 10% mobilization advance shall be disbursed within 14 days of the execution of this Purchase Order, subject to the Vendor providing a bank guarantee from a licensed financial institution in Ghana Accra.
  • All payments shall be made in Ghana Cedis (GHS) via electronic funds transfer to the Vendor's designated account at Ecobank Ghana, Osu Branch, Ghana Accra.
  • Any disputed invoices must be raised in writing within 10 business days of receipt. Failure to do so shall constitute acceptance of the invoice amount.
5. Terms and Conditions
  • This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, including the Ghana Health Service Act (Act 851) and the Occupational Therapy Act (Act 892).
  • The Occupational Therapist engaged under this Purchase Order must maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum cover of GHS 500,000 throughout the contract period in Ghana Accra.
  • The Vendor shall ensure that the Occupational Therapist complies with all data protection requirements under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana, particularly regarding patient records stored at the Ghana Accra facility.
  • Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with 60 days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Buyer shall pay for all services rendered up to the termination date.
  • The Vendor shall not subcontract any portion of the Occupational Therapist services without prior written consent from the Buyer's Procurement Director in Ghana Accra.
  • Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through mediation in Ghana Accra, and failing resolution within 30 days, through arbitration under the Ghana Arbitration Act, 2020 (Act 1036).
6. Delivery and Commencement

The Occupational Therapist shall commence duties at the Buyer's facility in Ghana Accra no later than 1 July 2025. The contract period shall run from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026, subject to satisfactory performance review at the 6-month and 12-month milestones. The Vendor shall provide the Buyer with the Occupational Therapist's full CV, professional registration certificates, and references at least 14 days prior to the commencement date.
