This Purchase Order is issued to formally engage the services of a qualified Physicist for a period of six (6) months, commencing on 1 July 2025 and concluding on 31 December 2025. The Physicist shall provide expert consultancy, research supervision, and technical advisory services to the Department of Physics at the Politecnico di Milano, located in Italy Milan. The engagement is governed by the terms set forth in this Purchase Order and the applicable Italian civil and commercial codes.

The Physicist engaged under this Purchase Order shall perform the following duties within the premises of the Politecnico di Milano in Italy Milan:

• Supervise and guide a team of no fewer than five (5) doctoral researchers in the field of quantum optics and photonics, ensuring adherence to international research standards.
• Conduct weekly laboratory sessions in the Advanced Photonics Lab, Building C, Floor 3, located at Via La Masa 7, Milan, Italy.
• Prepare and submit a minimum of two (2) peer-reviewed research papers in internationally recognized physics journals during the contract period.
• Provide technical consultancy to the departmental board on the acquisition and maintenance of high-precision optical instrumentation.
• Deliver four (4) public academic seminars open to the broader research community in Italy Milan, with topics approved in advance by the Head of Department.
• Maintain full compliance with Italian data protection regulations (GDPR) and the institutional ethical guidelines governing research conducted in Italy Milan.

All payments under this Purchase Order shall be made via bank transfer to the account designated by the Physicist. Invoices must be submitted monthly by the fifth (5th) business day of the following month. Payment shall be processed within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate prescribed by Italian Legislative Decree No. 231/2002. The total value of this Purchase Order is fixed at EUR 83,521.20 inclusive of VAT, and no additional charges shall be accepted without prior written amendment to this document.

• Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Italian Republic. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Italy Milan.
• Confidentiality: The Physicist agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all proprietary research data, unpublished findings, and institutional information encountered during the engagement in Italy Milan.
• Intellectual Property: All research outputs, publications, and inventions arising from work performed under this Purchase Order shall be jointly owned by the Politecnico di Milano and the Physicist, as stipulated in the separate Intellectual Property Agreement (Ref. IP-2025-0093).
• Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order with a written notice of thirty (30) days. In the event of early termination, the Physicist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the effective date of termination.
• Insurance: The Physicist shall maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 1,000,000, valid throughout the duration of this Purchase Order in Italy Milan.
• Force Majeure: Neither party shall be liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, or government-mandated closures affecting operations in Italy Milan.

This Purchase Order becomes effective upon signature by both parties. The Physicist acknowledges receipt of this Purchase Order and confirms acceptance of all terms, conditions, and deliverables outlined herein. The engagement is specifically tied to the physical location of the Politecnico di Milano campus in Italy Milan, and all on-site activities shall be conducted at the address specified in Section 1.
