This Purchase Order is issued by the Tanzania National Research & Development Institute (TNRDI) to engage the services of a qualified Physicist for the purpose of conducting advanced research, technical consultation, and laboratory supervision in the field of applied physics. The engagement is to be carried out within the jurisdiction of Tanzania Dar es Salaam, specifically at the TNRDI Main Campus located in Mbezi Beach, and shall comply with all applicable Tanzanian labor, tax, and research regulations.
The Physicist engaged under this Purchase Order shall provide expertise in quantum mechanics, nuclear physics, and materials science to support the Institute's ongoing research programs. All deliverables, reports, and technical documentation produced under this engagement shall be submitted in both English and Swahili, in accordance with the national language policy of the United Republic of Tanzania.

- Governing Law: This Purchase Order shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, including the Public Procurement Act, 2011, and all applicable regulations issued by the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) of Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
- Qualifications: The Physicist engaged under this Purchase Order must hold a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physics or a closely related field from a recognized university, and must possess a valid professional registration with the Tanzania Council for Professional and Academic Registration (CPAR). The Physicist must be physically present in Tanzania Dar es Salaam for a minimum of four (4) working days per week.
- Payment Schedule: Payments shall be made on a monthly basis within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice and satisfactory progress report. The first payment shall be due no later than 30 July 2025. All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the Physicist's designated account with a licensed Tanzanian commercial bank.
- Intellectual Property: All research findings, data, reports, and intellectual property generated by the Physicist during the course of this engagement shall be the sole property of TNRDI. The Physicist shall not publish, disclose, or distribute any proprietary information without prior written consent from the Director General of TNRDI, Tanzania Dar es Salaam.
- Health and Safety: The Physicist shall comply with all health and safety regulations applicable to physics laboratories in Tanzania Dar es Salaam, including those set by the Tanzania Occupational Safety and Health Authority (TOSHA). The Physicist must undergo a medical fitness assessment prior to commencing work in the radiation and nuclear physics laboratories.
- Termination: Either party may terminate this Purchase Order by providing thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Physicist shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the date of termination, less any applicable deductions as per Tanzanian labor law.
- Dispute Resolution: Any dispute arising from this Purchase Order shall first be attempted to be resolved through amicable negotiation. If unresolved within thirty (30) days, the matter shall be referred to arbitration in Tanzania Dar es Salaam in accordance with the Arbitration Act, Cap. 20 of the Laws of Tanzania.
- Compliance: The Physicist warrants that all services rendered under this Purchase Order shall comply with the Tanzania Research Ethics Committee guidelines and the National Research and Development Policy of the United Republic of Tanzania.
This Purchase Order is issued in accordance with the approved budget allocation for the 2025/2026 fiscal year of TNRDI. The engagement of the Physicist has been reviewed and approved by the Procurement Committee of TNRDI, Tanzania Dar es Salaam, and is subject to the final sign-off of the Director General.
