This Purchase Order is issued by Apex Industrial Automation (Pty) Ltd for the engagement of a qualified Robotics Engineer to provide specialised technical services at our primary manufacturing facility located in South Africa Johannesburg, specifically at the Sandton Industrial Park, 142 Rivonia Road, Sandton, Johannesburg, 2196. The Robotics Engineer shall be responsible for the design, programming, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial robotic systems, automated assembly lines, and collaborative robot (cobot) installations across all operational floors of the facility.
The scope of work under this Purchase Order encompasses the full lifecycle management of robotic systems, including but not limited to: system architecture design, PLC and HMI programming, kinematic modelling, end-effector integration, safety compliance verification in accordance with SANS 10142 and ISO 10218 standards, predictive maintenance scheduling, and performance optimisation of all robotic cells deployed within the South Africa Johannesburg manufacturing plant.

The Robotics Engineer shall commence all services no later than 1 July 2025 at the Apex Industrial Automation facility in South Africa Johannesburg. All deliverables, including design documentation, programming code, commissioning reports, and safety audit findings, shall be submitted to the Procurement Department at the Johannesburg site in both digital (PDF and native file formats) and hard-copy form. The Robotics Engineer is required to be physically present at the Sandton, Johannesburg premises for a minimum of five (5) working days per week during the active project phase, with remote support permitted only during the maintenance and call-out periods as specified in Line Items 02 and 05.
Payment for this Purchase Order shall be made in accordance with the following schedule: 30% advance payment upon acceptance of this Purchase Order; 40% upon successful commissioning and handover of all robotic systems; and the remaining 30% upon completion of the final safety audit and training programme. All payments shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the supplier's designated bank account within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid tax invoice. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month as stipulated under the South African National Credit Act and applicable commercial law.
- The Robotics Engineer shall hold a minimum of a BEng (Hons) in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a minimum of eight (8) years of documented experience in industrial robotics deployment in South Africa or internationally.
- The Robotics Engineer must be a registered professional engineer (Pr. Eng.) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and shall maintain valid professional indemnity insurance of no less than R5,000,000 for the duration of this Purchase Order.
- All work performed under this Purchase Order shall comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993), the South African National Standards (SANS) applicable to robotic systems, and all municipal by-laws governing industrial operations in the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality.
- The Robotics Engineer shall adhere to Apex Industrial Automation's site safety protocols, including mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE), induction training, and daily toolbox talks at the Johannesburg facility.
- Intellectual property generated specifically for Apex Industrial Automation under this Purchase Order shall vest in the company upon full payment. The Robotics Engineer retains ownership of pre-existing methodologies and proprietary software tools.
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.
- The supplier may not subcontract any portion of the Robotics Engineer engagement without prior written consent from the Procurement Manager at Apex Industrial Automation, Johannesburg.
- This Purchase Order may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the supplier shall be compensated for all work completed and documented up to the date of termination.
This Purchase Order is issued under the authority of the Procurement and Supply Chain Department of Apex Industrial Automation (Pty) Ltd. By signing below, the supplier acknowledges receipt of this Purchase Order, accepts all terms and conditions herein, and confirms the availability of a qualified Robotics Engineer to commence services at the South Africa Johannesburg facility as specified.
