This Purchase Order is issued to formally procure the professional services of a qualified Social Worker to be delivered within the Birmingham, United Kingdom service area. The Social Worker shall provide comprehensive case management, family support interventions, safeguarding assessments, and community-based welfare services in accordance with the Children Act 1989, the Care Act 2014, and all applicable United Kingdom legislation governing social work practice. The Social Worker is expected to operate primarily from the Birmingham City Council offices on New Street and to conduct home visits across the Birmingham metropolitan area, including the districts of Edgbaston, Erdington, Harborne, and Selly Oak.

- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
- The Social Worker engaged under this Purchase Order must hold current registration with Social Work England and maintain a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) enhanced check, renewed no less than every three years.
- All services shall be delivered in strict compliance with the United Kingdom's Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR. Client records pertaining to Birmingham residents shall be stored in accordance with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) guidelines.
- Payment shall be made within thirty (30) calendar days of receipt of a valid invoice referencing this Purchase Order number (PO-BHM-SW-2025-0472). Invoices must be submitted to the Birmingham City Council Procurement Office at the address stated in Section 1.
- The Social Worker shall attend all scheduled multi-agency meetings, including those convened by the Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership and the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner's office, as required by the scope of this engagement.
- Meridian Social Care & Wellbeing Ltd shall provide a minimum of fourteen (14) days' written notice should the assigned Social Worker be unavailable due to illness or leave. A suitably qualified replacement Social Worker, equally registered with Social Work England, must be nominated within five (5) working days.
- This Purchase Order may be terminated by either party with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, all outstanding casework files relating to Birmingham, United Kingdom clients must be handed over to Birmingham City Council within ten (10) working days.
- The Social Worker shall comply with all Birmingham City Council policies, including the Council's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion framework, and shall deliver services without discrimination in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
- Any variation to the scope, duration, or pricing of this Purchase Order must be agreed in writing by both parties prior to implementation. Verbal amendments are not binding.
- The Social Worker shall carry professional indemnity insurance of no less than £5,000,000 per claim throughout the duration of this Purchase Order and shall provide a certificate of insurance upon request.
The Social Worker shall commence duties on 01 September 2025 at the Birmingham City Council offices, 100 New Street, Birmingham, B1 2BB, United Kingdom. The initial contract period is twelve (12) months, with the option to extend by a further six (6) months subject to mutual agreement and satisfactory performance review conducted by the Birmingham Directorate of Children, Young People & Families.
