3. Description of Goods and Services
This Purchase Order is issued by the University of Brisbane to formally engage the above-nominated University Lecturer for the provision of academic teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development services within the Faculty of Education and Arts. The engagement is conducted in accordance with the academic staffing framework of the University and the relevant provisions of the Higher Education Standards and Quality Framework as administered by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) in Australia.

4. Payment Terms and Conditions
- Payment Schedule: The total Purchase Order value of AUD 450,000.00 shall be disbursed on a monthly basis in equal instalments of AUD 12,500.00, payable on the last working day of each calendar month, commencing 31 August 2025.
- Payment Method: Direct bank transfer (EFT) to the nominated account of the University Lecturer. All payments are subject to the University's standard accounts payable processing cycle.
- Withholding Tax: The University shall withhold applicable income tax in accordance with the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth) and the Pay As You Withhold (PAYG) obligations administered by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- Superannuation: Superannuation contributions shall be made in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 at the current statutory rate of 11.5% (as applicable for the 2025–2026 financial year).
- Leave Entitlements: The University Lecturer shall be entitled to 23 days of annual leave, 15 days of long service leave (pro-rata), and 10 days of professional development leave per annum, in accordance with the Clauses of Service for Academic Staff of the University of Brisbane and the Higher Education (Commonwealth) Act 2003.
- Invoice Requirements: Monthly service statements must be submitted to the Finance Division, Level 2, 40 Kelsall Street, St Lucia, Brisbane, QLD 4067, no later than the fifth (5th) business day of the following month.
5. Terms and Conditions of Engagement
- This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the State of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved in accordance with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2013 or, where applicable, the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).
- The University Lecturer shall comply with all University policies, including but not limited to the Research Integrity Policy, the Code of Conduct for Academic Staff, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
- The University Lecturer shall maintain all necessary professional registrations, including membership of the Australian Council of Deans of Education (ACDE) and any relevant state teaching accreditation where applicable in Queensland.
- This Purchase Order may be varied by mutual written agreement of both parties. No variation shall be binding unless executed in writing and countersigned by the Authorising Officer.
- Either party may terminate this engagement with a written notice period of three (3) months, or immediately in the case of material breach, in accordance with the University's Staff Handbook and applicable Australian employment legislation.
- The University Lecturer shall not be required to perform duties outside the scope described in Section 3 without prior written approval and, where applicable, an amendment to this Purchase Order.
- All intellectual property created in the course of this engagement shall be governed by the University of Brisbane's Intellectual Property Policy and the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
6. Delivery and Performance Location
All services under this Purchase Order shall be performed at the University of Brisbane, St Lucia Campus, 40 Kelsall Street, St Lucia, Brisbane, Queensland 4067, Australia, and at such other locations within Australia Brisbane metropolitan area as may be reasonably directed by the Faculty for the purposes of teaching, research, or professional development activities. The University Lecturer is expected to maintain a regular on-campus presence of a minimum of four (4) days per week.
