1. Purpose of Purchase Order

This Purchase Order is formally issued by the Office of Academic Procurement at King Fahd University of Science and Technology, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to authorize the engagement of a qualified University Lecturer for the academic year 2025/2026. This Purchase Order governs the terms, conditions, compensation structure, and professional obligations associated with the appointment of the University Lecturer to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, conduct research supervision, and fulfill all academic duties as prescribed by the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia. The scope of this Purchase Order is strictly limited to the academic services rendered by the University Lecturer within the premises and affiliated campuses of the institution located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

3. Terms and Conditions
  1. This Purchase Order is governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Saudi Labor Law (Royal Decree No. M/51), the Civil Transactions Law, and all regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Riyadh.
  2. The University Lecturer shall maintain a valid Iqama (residence permit) and professional teaching license issued by the Saudi Qualifications Authority (SQU) throughout the duration of this Purchase Order. Any lapse in documentation shall result in immediate suspension of services.
  3. All compensation outlined in this Purchase Order shall be disbursed in Saudi Riyals (SAR) via bank transfer to the University Lecturer's designated account with a licensed Saudi financial institution, no later than the 5th business day of each calendar month.
  4. The University Lecturer is required to adhere to the academic calendar of the institution as approved by the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia, and shall report to the Riyadh campus no later than 07:30 AM on all scheduled teaching days.
  5. Any modification, amendment, or cancellation of this Purchase Order must be executed in writing and countersigned by both the authorized representative of the issuing university and the University Lecturer. Verbal agreements shall hold no legal standing under Saudi Arabian law.
  6. The University Lecturer shall comply with all data protection and intellectual property policies of the institution. All course materials, research outputs, and academic assessments produced under this Purchase Order shall remain the property of the university unless otherwise stipulated in a separate intellectual property agreement.
  7. Disputes arising from this Purchase Order shall be resolved through the Saudi Arabian Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) in Riyadh, in accordance with the Arbitration Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  8. This Purchase Order is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue and shall automatically renew for successive academic years subject to mutual written consent and satisfactory performance evaluation by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences.
  9. The University Lecturer shall participate in a minimum of two (2) professional development workshops or academic conferences held in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, or internationally per academic year, at the expense of the institution as detailed in Line Item 05.
  10. All payments made under this Purchase Order are subject to the 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) as mandated by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) of Saudi Arabia. The University Lecturer shall provide valid tax invoices for all transactions.
4. Payment Terms

Payment shall be made on a monthly basis within fifteen (15) calendar days from the receipt of a valid tax invoice from the University Lecturer. The first payment shall be due upon successful completion of the onboarding process and verification of all professional credentials by the Human Resources Department in Riyadh. The final payment, including the end-of-service gratuity, shall be processed within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of the academic year or termination of this Purchase Order, whichever occurs first.
