This Quotation Estimate has been prepared in accordance with the formal request issued by the Department of Applied Sciences & Innovation at Politecnico di Milano. The Academic Researcher engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and deliverables within the operational boundaries of Italy Milan and its surrounding academic and industrial corridors:
- Design and execution of a multi-year longitudinal research programme in the field of sustainable urban systems, conducted primarily at the Milan campus facilities and partner laboratories in the Lombardy region.
- Supervision of a minimum of four (4) doctoral candidates and six (6) master's students enrolled in the Italy Milan academic ecosystem, including weekly seminars, thesis guidance, and peer-review mentoring.
- Authorship and co-authorship of no fewer than six (6) peer-reviewed journal articles and two (2) conference proceedings per annum, targeting Q1/Q2 international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
- Representation of the institution at national and international academic conferences, with a minimum of four (4) presentations per year, including at least two held within the Italy Milan metropolitan area.
- Collaboration with industry partners based in the Milan business district (CityLife, Porta Nuova, and the Saronno industrial zone) to ensure translational applicability of research findings.
- Management of a dedicated research budget not exceeding €180,000 EUR, including procurement of laboratory consumables, software licences, and fieldwork travel within Italy.

4.1 Payment shall be rendered in monthly instalments via direct bank transfer (bonifico bancario) to the account designated by Studio Consulenza Accademica S.r.l., Milan, Italy. Each instalment corresponds to one-twelfth (1/12) of the total estimated cost stated in this Quotation Estimate.
4.2 Invoices shall be issued on the first business day of each calendar month and are payable within thirty (30) days of the invoice date, in full compliance with Italian commercial law (Codice Civile, Articles 1180–1219) and the prevailing Lombardy regional procurement regulations applicable to public academic institutions in Italy Milan.
4.3 A late-payment interest rate of 1.5% per month shall apply to any outstanding balance exceeding the stipulated payment window, as mandated by Italian Legislative Decree 231/2002 on late payment in commercial transactions.
4.4 The Academic Researcher shall be entitled to a performance bonus of up to 8% of the annual gross remuneration, contingent upon the successful completion of all deliverables outlined in Section 2 and the attainment of a minimum H-index increment of three (3) points over the contract period.
5.1 This Quotation Estimate and the subsequent employment contract shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Italian Republic, with exclusive jurisdiction vested in the competent courts of Milan (Tribunale di Milano).
5.2 The engagement of the Academic Researcher shall comply with all applicable Italian labour legislation, including the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for university and research personnel, as well as the GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679) and Italian Data Protection Code (D.Lgs. 196/2003) with respect to any personal data processed during the research activities conducted in Italy Milan.
5.3 All intellectual property generated by the Academic Researcher during the term of this engagement shall be jointly owned by the researcher and the commissioning institution, in accordance with Article 64-ter of the Italian Copyright Law (Legge 633/1941) and the specific provisions of the Politecnico di Milano research policy.
5.4 Either party may terminate the engagement with a written notice period of ninety (90) days. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata settlement of all accrued and unaccrued costs shall be calculated and settled within sixty (60) days of the effective termination date.
This Quotation Estimate constitutes a formal and non-binding proposal until countersigned by both parties. Upon acceptance, it shall form an integral part of the definitive service contract for the Academic Researcher engagement in Italy Milan. The rates and conditions set forth herein are valid for sixty (60) days from the date of issue. Any modifications or amendments to this document must be made in writing and signed by both parties to be considered valid.
