1. Scope of Work – Academic Researcher Engagement

This Quotation Estimate is issued by Zurich Academic Research Services AG in response to the formal request submitted by ETH Zurich for the professional engagement of a qualified Academic Researcher to support an interdisciplinary climate modelling study. The scope of work encompasses the full spectrum of research activities to be conducted within the academic and institutional framework of Switzerland Zurich, in compliance with all applicable Swiss federal and cantonal regulations governing academic research, data protection, and intellectual property.

The Academic Researcher will be responsible for designing and executing experimental protocols, conducting literature reviews, performing statistical analyses, drafting peer-reviewed publications, and presenting findings at national and international conferences. All work will be carried out primarily at the client's premises in Switzerland Zurich, with the possibility of limited travel to partner institutions within the Swiss Confederation as required by the project timeline.

3. Payment Terms

Payment for this Quotation Estimate shall be made in Swiss Francs (CHF) via bank transfer to the account of Zurich Academic Research Services AG at UBS AG, Bahnhofstrasse 10, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland (IBAN: CH93 0023 0456 7890 1234 5). Invoices will be issued monthly in arrears. A 30-day payment window applies from the date of invoice. Late payments will incur interest at the Swiss National Bank reference rate plus 2 percentage points, in accordance with Article 104 of the Swiss Code of Obligations.

4. Terms and Conditions

This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After expiry, all rates and conditions are subject to revision.
The engagement of the Academic Researcher is governed by a separate Service Agreement to be executed prior to the commencement of work. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until such an agreement is signed by both parties.
All research data, publications, and intellectual property generated during the engagement shall be jointly owned by the client and the Academic Researcher, as stipulated in the Service Agreement, in compliance with Swiss Federal Act on the Promotion of Research and Innovation (FPR).
The Academic Researcher shall comply with all ethical guidelines of the Swiss Academy of Sciences and the institutional research ethics committee of ETH Zurich.
Either party may terminate the engagement with a written notice period of sixty (60) days. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata settlement of all incurred costs will be applied.
This Quotation Estimate is subject to the laws of the Canton of Zurich and the Swiss Confederation. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Zurich, Switzerland.
All personal data processed in connection with this Quotation Estimate and the subsequent engagement shall be handled in strict accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG).
Force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, or government-mandated closures affecting operations in Switzerland Zurich, shall suspend obligations without penalty for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days.

5. Acceptance and Authorization

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and authorizes Zurich Academic Research Services AG to proceed with the recruitment and engagement of the Academic Researcher as described herein. This acceptance does not waive any rights under the subsequent Service Agreement.
