This Quotation Estimate is issued by Dr. Farhan Ahmed, a certified and licensed Astronomer with over fifteen years of professional experience in observational astronomy, astrophysics, and celestial cartography. The purpose of this document is to provide the National Institute of Space Research, located in Bangladesh Dhaka, with a detailed, itemized financial estimate for the engagement of professional Astronomer services over a twelve-month contract period. All rates quoted herein reflect current market conditions in Bangladesh Dhaka and are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in Section 6 of this Quotation Estimate.

The Astronomer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and deliverables within the jurisdiction of Bangladesh Dhaka and its surrounding districts:

  • Conduct monthly observational surveys of the night sky from the designated observatory site in Mirpur, Bangladesh Dhaka, including tracking of variable stars, planetary transits, and meteor shower events relevant to the tropical latitude of approximately 23.8°N.
  • Produce quarterly astronomical data reports in both English and Bengali, documenting celestial events, atmospheric interference patterns, and photometric measurements specific to the Bangladesh Dhaka sky conditions.
  • Design and calibrate a 600mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope installation for the NISR rooftop facility, ensuring optimal alignment for the monsoon and dry-season observing windows in Bangladesh Dhaka.
  • Deliver two (2) public outreach lectures per quarter at the Dhaka University Science Museum, introducing the general public of Bangladesh Dhaka to fundamental concepts of astronomy, cosmology, and the history of celestial navigation in the Bengal region.
  • Provide technical consultation to the NISR engineering team regarding the siting of a proposed 1.2m research-grade reflector telescope at a low-light-pollution site within 80 km of central Bangladesh Dhaka.
  • Maintain and update a digital celestial ephemeris database tailored to the geographic coordinates of Bangladesh Dhaka (23.8103°N, 90.4125°E), incorporating local time-zone offsets and seasonal atmospheric refraction corrections.

Payment for the services described in this Quotation Estimate shall be made in four equal quarterly installments of BDT 669,375 each, due within fifteen (15) calendar days of the end of each quarter. The first installment is due upon execution of the contract. All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the account of the Astronomer as designated in the annexure to the final agreement. Late payments shall attract an interest charge of 1.5% per month, consistent with prevailing financial regulations in Bangladesh Dhaka.

All deliverables, including observational data sets, reports, lecture materials, and the ephemeris database, shall be submitted to the NISR project officer in Bangladesh Dhaka within ten (10) business days of the end of the respective reporting period. The client shall have a period of fifteen (15) business days to review and accept or request revisions. Acceptance shall be confirmed in writing by the authorized signatory of the National Institute of Space Research.

  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. After the expiry date, all rates and availability of the Astronomer are subject to re-evaluation.
  2. The Astronomer reserves the right to decline or reschedule fieldwork in the event of adverse weather conditions, including heavy monsoon rainfall common in Bangladesh Dhaka between June and September, provided that reasonable notice of at least 48 hours is given.
  3. All intellectual property, including observational data, software, and written reports produced under this engagement, shall remain the property of the National Institute of Space Research, Bangladesh Dhaka, upon full payment.
  4. The Astronomer shall maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of BDT 5,000,000, valid throughout the contract term.
  5. Any scope changes or additional services beyond those listed in this Quotation Estimate shall require a written change order signed by both parties before work commences.
  6. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until a formal service agreement is executed by both parties.
  7. Governing law: All disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate or the subsequent contract shall be resolved under the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, with jurisdiction vested in the courts of Bangladesh Dhaka.

By signing below, both parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to the terms set forth in this Quotation Estimate for Astronomer services to be rendered in Bangladesh Dhaka.
