This Quotation Estimate is formally issued to provide a comprehensive and itemized financial projection for the engagement of a senior Astronomer to deliver specialized research, observational, and advisory services within the metropolitan region of Brazil São Paulo. The present document outlines the scope of work, associated costs, payment schedule, and contractual conditions governing the professional relationship between the service provider and the requesting institution. All figures presented herein are expressed in Brazilian Reais (BRL) unless otherwise stated, and are subject to the terms detailed in Section 7 of this Quotation Estimate.
The Astronomer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall provide the following professional services to the client institution located in Brazil São Paulo:
- Design and execution of deep-sky observational campaigns utilizing the 1.9-meter telescope facility at the Observatório Astronômico located in the São Paulo metropolitan area.
- Development of computational models for stellar evolution, galactic dynamics, and exoplanetary system characterization.
- Supervision and mentorship of a team of six (6) graduate research students in the field of astrophysics and observational astronomy.
- Authorship and co-authorship of a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed scientific publications in internationally recognized journals during the contract period.
- Delivery of two (2) public science outreach lectures per semester at the Museu de Ciências da Terra in São Paulo, SP, Brazil.
- Technical advisory support for the calibration and maintenance of spectrographic instruments housed at the São Paulo observatory facility.
- Participation in at least one (1) international astronomical conference per year, representing the institution in Brazil São Paulo.

The total amount specified in this Quotation Estimate shall be disbursed in quarterly installments, payable within fifteen (15) business days of the invoice date. The payment schedule is structured as follows:
- First Installment (Q1 — July to September 2025): R$ 259,000.00
- Second Installment (Q2 — October to December 2025): R$ 259,000.00
- Third Installment (Q3 — January to March 2026): R$ 259,000.00
- Fourth Installment (Q4 — April to June 2026): R$ 259,000.00
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the account designated by the service provider, registered under the CNPJ of the consulting entity operating in Brazil São Paulo. Applicable taxes, including ISS (Imposto Sobre Serviços) at the prevailing municipal rate for São Paulo, shall be calculated and itemized on each invoice.
This Quotation Estimate is predicated upon the following assumptions: (a) the observatory facility in São Paulo remains operational and accessible throughout the contract period; (b) the client institution provides necessary laboratory and office space within its São Paulo campus; (c) the Astronomer's visa and work authorization in Brazil are valid for the full twelve-month engagement; and (d) no force majeure events, including but not limited to severe weather patterns affecting the São Paulo region, disrupt observational schedules by more than ten (10) cumulative days per quarter.
This Quotation Estimate shall remain valid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days from the date of issue. Acceptance of this Quotation Estimate by the client institution shall be confirmed in writing via signed contract or formal letter of intent. Upon acceptance, the Astronomer engagement in Brazil São Paulo shall commence on the first business day of the following calendar month.
- All intellectual property generated by the Astronomer during the course of this engagement shall be jointly owned by the service provider and the client institution, as stipulated in the master service agreement.
- Either party may terminate this Quotation Estimate engagement with a minimum of sixty (60) days written notice. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata refund of unused fees shall be issued within thirty (30) days.
- The Astronomer shall comply with all applicable Brazilian federal, state, and municipal regulations governing scientific research, data protection (LGPD), and professional conduct within the state of São Paulo.
- Any revisions to the scope of services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall require a written amendment signed by both parties prior to implementation.
- Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through arbitration in São Paulo, SP, Brazil, in accordance with the rules of the Câmara de Arbitragem da FIESP.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until formally executed by authorized representatives of both parties.
