This Quotation Estimate is formally submitted by Stellar Research & Advisory Consultants Pvt. Ltd. to the Mumbai Institute of Astrophysics & Space Sciences, located in India Mumbai, for the professional engagement of a qualified Astronomer for a period of twelve (12) months. The purpose of this document is to provide a comprehensive, itemized breakdown of all costs associated with the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional services of the Astronomer who will be stationed at the institute's campus in Juhu, India Mumbai. All figures presented in this Quotation Estimate are exclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) at the prevailing rate of 18%, unless otherwise stated.
The Astronomer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and responsibilities at the institute in India Mumbai:
- Conduct original research in the fields of stellar astrophysics, exoplanetary systems, and radio astronomy using the institute's 1.2-meter optical telescope and 64-element radio interferometer array situated in the low-light-pollution zone of India Mumbai's western suburbs.
- Supervise and mentor a team of no fewer than eight (8) postgraduate research scholars and four (4) undergraduate interns in their thesis work and laboratory observations.
- Deliver a minimum of four (4) guest lectures per semester at the institute's academic wing, covering advanced topics in cosmology, spectroscopy, and celestial mechanics.
- Organize and lead at least two (2) public stargazing and astronomy outreach events per quarter in collaboration with the Mumbai Astronomical Society and local schools across India Mumbai.
- Author and co-author a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed journal articles per annum in internationally recognized astronomy publications.
- Coordinate with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) Bangalore and the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) Ahmedabad for joint observational campaigns and data-sharing initiatives.
- Maintain and calibrate the institute's spectrographic instruments, CCD cameras, and data-processing pipelines on a weekly basis.
- Prepare an annual research progress report for the institute's governing board and submit it to the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, as required.

4.1 Payment shall be made in quarterly instalments of 25% each, due within fifteen (15) working days of the end of each calendar quarter, via NEFT/RTGS to the account designated by Stellar Research & Advisory Consultants Pvt. Ltd., India Mumbai.
4.2 A mobilization advance of 10% of the total Quotation Estimate value may be requested upon execution of the service agreement, to be adjusted against the first quarterly payment.
4.3 All payments are subject to the satisfactory delivery of milestones as outlined in the Scope of Work. The institute reserves the right to withhold payment for any quarter in which the Astronomer fails to meet the agreed-upon deliverables.
5.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates are subject to revision based on prevailing market conditions in India Mumbai.
5.2 The Astronomer shall be bound by a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) covering all proprietary research data, unpublished findings, and institutional intellectual property generated during the engagement period.
5.3 Either party may terminate the engagement with a written notice of sixty (60) days. In the event of early termination, a pro-rata adjustment of the remaining Quotation Estimate value shall be applied.
5.4 The Astronomer shall comply with all applicable regulations of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the Ministry of Earth Sciences, and local municipal by-laws pertaining to astronomical observations in the India Mumbai metropolitan area.
5.5 All disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved through arbitration in Mumbai, India, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The jurisdiction of the courts in India Mumbai shall be exclusive.
5.6 This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until a formal service agreement is executed by both parties on letterhead with authorized signatories.
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and cost structure outlined herein for the engagement of the Astronomer at the Mumbai Institute of Astrophysics & Space Sciences, India Mumbai.
