This Quotation Estimate is issued by Savanna BioConsult (Pvt) Ltd to provide a comprehensive, itemised financial proposal for the engagement of a qualified Biologist to deliver ecological assessment, biodiversity monitoring, and environmental impact evaluation services within the Zimbabwe Harare metropolitan region and its immediate hinterland. This document outlines the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and associated costs for the professional services of a Biologist as requested by the client. All pricing is quoted in United States Dollars (USD) in accordance with the prevailing foreign exchange regulations of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, and this Quotation Estimate is binding for the validity period stated above.
The contracted Biologist shall perform the following duties and deliverables as part of this engagement in Zimbabwe Harare:
- Biodiversity Baseline Survey: Conduct a comprehensive flora and fauna inventory across designated sites in the Harare metropolitan area, including the Mukuvisi Woodlands, the Nyanga foothills, and urban green corridors. The Biologist will document species composition, population density, and habitat condition using standard ecological sampling protocols.
- Water Quality Biological Assessment: Perform bioindication studies on the Mukuvisi River, the Chisipite River, and tributaries flowing through Harare. The Biologist will collect macroinvertebrate samples, assess benthic community indices, and correlate findings with physicochemical water quality parameters.
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Support: Provide biological expertise for the EIA of proposed infrastructure developments within the Harare urban growth boundary. The Biologist will prepare the biological and ecological chapters, identify sensitive habitats, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Invasive Species Monitoring: Map and assess the spread of invasive plant and animal species (including Lantana camara, Mikania micrantha, and the invasive Chromolaena odorata) in and around Zimbabwe Harare, and develop a management recommendation report.
- Community Engagement and Reporting: The Biologist will conduct at least two public stakeholder briefings in Harare, present findings to the Ministry, and submit a final technical report in both English and Shona.

The total duration of the Biologist engagement in Zimbabwe Harare is estimated at 50 working days (approximately ten calendar weeks), commencing within fourteen (14) days of contract signature. A detailed Gantt chart and milestone schedule will be provided as an annexure to the signed contract. The Biologist will submit interim progress reports at the end of each month of the engagement.
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After the expiry date, all rates and terms are subject to revision.
- Payment terms: 40% advance payment upon contract signing, 40% upon submission of the interim report (end of Week 5), and 20% upon delivery and acceptance of the final technical report.
- All payments shall be made in United States Dollars (USD) via bank transfer to the account of Savanna BioConsult (Pvt) Ltd, First National Bank of Zimbabwe, Harare Branch.
- The Biologist shall comply with all applicable laws of Zimbabwe, including the Environmental Management Act [Chapter 20:27], the National Parks and Wildlife Management Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
- The Biologist shall maintain professional indemnity insurance with a minimum cover of USD 250,000 for the duration of the engagement in Zimbabwe Harare.
- All data, reports, and intellectual property generated under this Quotation Estimate shall become the property of the client upon full payment.
- The Biologist shall not subcontract any portion of the biological fieldwork without prior written consent from the client.
- Any variation in scope beyond the items listed in Section 3 shall be subject to a supplementary Quotation Estimate issued by Savanna BioConsult (Pvt) Ltd.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a contract until countersigned by both parties and the advance payment has been received.
- Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through arbitration in Harare, Zimbabwe, in accordance with the Arbitration Act [Chapter 7:15] of Zimbabwe.
By signing below, both parties acknowledge that this Quotation Estimate for Biologist services in Zimbabwe Harare has been reviewed, understood, and accepted in full. The terms, conditions, and financial obligations set forth herein are agreed upon and shall govern the professional relationship between the parties.
