This Quotation Estimate is issued by East African Engineering & Process Solutions Ltd. to provide a comprehensive, itemized cost breakdown for the engagement of a qualified Chemical Engineer and associated technical support services. The scope of work described herein is specifically tailored to the operational requirements of the client's agro-processing facility located in Uganda Kampala. All pricing is quoted in Ugandan Shillings (UGX) and reflects current market rates for professional engineering services in the Kampala metropolitan area as of June 2025.
The Chemical Engineer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and deliverables at the client's premises in Uganda Kampala:
- Process Design & Optimization: Review and redesign of the existing juice extraction and pasteurization lines to improve thermal efficiency by a minimum of 12 percent, reducing energy consumption per tonne of processed product.
- Chemical Process Safety Audit: Conduct a full HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) study on all chemical storage, mixing, and reaction vessels in compliance with the Uganda National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) regulations and the Uganda Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2006.
- Wastewater Treatment System Design: Develop a complete engineering design for a biological and chemical wastewater treatment plant capable of handling 500 m³/day of process effluent, ensuring discharge meets the Uganda National Water & Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) effluent standards.
- Raw Material & Reagent Sourcing Advisory: Provide technical specifications and supplier recommendations for all chemical reagents, catalysts, and process aids required for the expanded production line, with a focus on locally available materials in the Kampala industrial market.
- Staff Training & Capacity Building: Deliver a minimum of 40 hours of on-site training for the client's plant operators and junior technicians on safe chemical handling, process control instrumentation, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance Documentation: Prepare all necessary technical dossiers, environmental impact assessments, and permit applications required by the Uganda Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
- Project Supervision & Commissioning: Provide full-time on-site supervision during the installation and commissioning phase of the new process equipment, estimated at 8 weeks in Uganda Kampala.

4.1 A mobilization advance of 30 percent of the total Quotation Estimate value shall be payable within seven (7) working days of contract signature.
4.2 A progress payment of 40 percent shall be due upon successful completion and client sign-off of the design and HAZOP deliverables.
4.3 The remaining 30 percent shall be payable within fourteen (14) working days following the final commissioning report and handover of all documentation.
4.4 All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the account of East African Engineering & Process Solutions Ltd., Stanbic Bank Uganda, Kampala Branch, Account No. 0045-8821-3376.
5.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Prices are subject to revision upon expiry due to fluctuations in the Ugandan Shilling exchange rate and local material costs in Uganda Kampala.
5.2 The Chemical Engineer and support team shall comply with all applicable Ugandan labour laws, occupational health and safety regulations, and site-specific safety protocols at the client's facility.
5.3 The client shall provide the Chemical Engineer with safe access to all plant areas, existing process documentation, utility data, and any third-party reports necessary to execute the scope of work.
5.4 Any change in scope beyond what is described in Section 2 shall be subject to a supplementary Quotation Estimate issued by the contractor and approved in writing by the client before additional work commences.
5.5 All intellectual property, design drawings, and technical reports produced under this engagement shall become the property of the client upon full payment.
5.6 Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate or the resulting contract shall be resolved through mediation in Kampala, Uganda, in accordance with the Arbitration Act, 2000 of Uganda.
Note: This Quotation Estimate does not include the cost of procuring, manufacturing, or installing physical process equipment, piping, instrumentation, or construction works. Those items shall be quoted separately upon the client's request. All rates are exclusive of any applicable withholding tax as per Uganda Revenue Authority guidelines.By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate for Chemical Engineer services in Uganda Kampala and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein. This document, once countersigned by both parties, shall constitute a binding service agreement.
