1. Purpose of This Quotation EstimateThis Quotation Estimate is issued by TransBorder Customs & Trade Solutions (Pty) Ltd to provide a comprehensive and itemised cost breakdown for the engagement of a qualified Customs Officer to operate within the South Africa Johannesburg metropolitan area. The services outlined herein are designed to support the client's import, export, and cross-border trade operations at the Johannesburg International Airport (O.R. Tambo), the Durban–Johannesburg freight corridor, and all relevant South African Revenue Service (SARS) Customs and Excise offices situated within the Gauteng province. This Quotation Estimate reflects current market rates applicable to the South Africa Johannesburg region as of the date of issue and is subject to the terms and conditions set out below.
2. Scope of Services – Customs Officer EngagementThe Customs Officer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall be a fully accredited professional registered with the South African Customs Brokers Council (SACBC) and holding a valid Customs Broker's Licence issued by SARS. The Customs Officer will be based in South Africa Johannesburg and will perform the following duties on behalf of the client:
- Preparation, submission, and clearance of all customs declarations (SAD forms) for import and export consignments processed through the South Africa Johannesburg customs precincts.
- Classification of goods under the Harmonised System (HS) nomenclature and determination of applicable duty rates, Value Added Tax (VAT), and levies.

This Quotation Estimate is valid for an initial contract period of twelve (12) months commencing on the date of client acceptance. Upon expiry, the engagement of the Customs Officer may be renewed on a month-to-month basis subject to mutual written agreement. Any renewal within the South Africa Johannesburg operational scope will be subject to an annual fee adjustment not exceeding the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as published by Statistics South Africa for the preceding calendar year.
5. Terms and Conditions- This Quotation Estimate is non-binding until formally accepted in writing by the client and countersigned by TransBorder Customs & Trade Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
- All fees quoted are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of the Customs Officer's professional indemnity insurance and statutory employer contributions.
- The Customs Officer shall comply with all applicable legislation, including the Customs and Excise Act 91 of 1964, the National Treasury Regulations, and the South African Revenue Service (SARS) operational guidelines applicable to South Africa Johannesburg.
- Payment terms: Net 30 days from the date of invoice. Late payments shall attract interest at the prime lending rate plus 2% per annum.
- The client shall provide all necessary trade documentation, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin in a timely manner to enable the Customs Officer to process declarations without delay.
- Either party may terminate this engagement with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, all outstanding fees for services rendered up to the termination date shall be due and payable.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a guarantee of customs clearance timelines, as processing times are subject to SARS operational capacity and any applicable inspections or investigations within South Africa Johannesburg.
- Confidentiality: All trade data, client information, and operational details shared in the course of this engagement shall be treated as strictly confidential and shall not be disclosed to third parties without prior written consent.
- Governing law: This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.
