1. Introduction & Scope of Work

This Quotation Estimate is issued by Colombo Editorial Solutions (Pvt) Ltd. to provide a comprehensive and itemised cost breakdown for professional Editor services to be delivered in Sri Lanka Colombo. Our firm specialises in delivering high-calibre editorial, proofreading, copy-editing, and content structuring services tailored to the linguistic and cultural context of the Sri Lankan business and media environment. The Editor engagement outlined herein covers the full editorial lifecycle for the client's annual corporate report, quarterly marketing brochures, and a suite of digital content assets, all to be completed within the agreed project timeline.

The Editor assigned to this project will be a senior-level professional with a minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in English-language editorial work, with demonstrated proficiency in Sri Lankan English conventions, local regulatory language requirements, and international publishing standards. All editorial work will be conducted primarily at the client's offices in Colombo, with supplementary remote sessions as mutually agreed.

3. Project Timeline & Delivery Milestones

The Editor engagement will commence on 1 July 2025 and conclude by 31 December 2025, subject to the client's content readiness. Key milestones include: delivery of the first draft edit of the corporate report by 15 August 2025; completion of each quarterly brochure within ten (10) business days of receiving final copy; and final pre-press proof sign-off no later than five (5) business days before the scheduled print date. All deliverables will be submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) and PDF formats, with tracked changes enabled for the client's review.

4. Terms & Conditions of This Quotation Estimate

Validity: This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After the expiry date, rates may be subject to revision based on prevailing market conditions in Sri Lanka Colombo.
Payment Terms: A 40% advance payment is due upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate. The remaining 60% shall be payable in two equal instalments: 50% upon completion of the corporate report edit and 50% upon final project closure. All payments are to be made in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) via bank transfer to the account details provided on the invoice.
Revisions: The Quotation Estimate includes up to three (3) rounds of revisions per deliverable. Additional revision cycles beyond the included rounds will be billed at LKR 2,500 per hour for the Editor's time.
Confidentiality: The Editor and all supporting editorial staff shall sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to commencing work. All client materials, drafts, and final documents shall be treated as strictly confidential and shall not be disclosed to any third party without written consent.
Intellectual Property: Upon full and final payment, all edited manuscripts, style guides, and editorial deliverables shall become the sole intellectual property of the client. The Editor retains no rights to reproduce, distribute, or publish any portion of the work.
Force Majeure: Neither party shall be held liable for delays or non-performance resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government-imposed restrictions, or civil unrest affecting operations in Sri Lanka Colombo.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through amicable negotiation. Should negotiation fail, the matter shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration Act of Sri Lanka, with the seat of arbitration in Colombo.
Subcontracting: The Editor may engage junior editorial assistants for proofreading and formatting tasks, provided that all such personnel are based in Sri Lanka Colombo and are bound by the same confidentiality obligations.

5. Acceptance & Authorisation

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein. The Editor engagement shall commence upon receipt of the advance payment and a signed service agreement. This document constitutes a formal Quotation Estimate and does not, by itself, create a binding contract until both parties execute the definitive service agreement.
