All pricing reflected in this Quotation Estimate is based on current market rates for professional Editor services in the Chicago metropolitan area and is subject to the conditions outlined herein.

The proposed engagement centers on the retention of a qualified Editor to perform a full-spectrum editorial review of the client's manuscript, publication, or body of written material. The Editor will operate out of our dedicated workspace in downtown United States Chicago and will be available for in-person consultations at the client's Chicago-area office upon request. The scope of the Editor's responsibilities includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Developmental Editing: Structural analysis, narrative flow assessment, argument coherence review, and chapter/section reorganization recommendations. The Editor will deliver a detailed editorial letter outlining macro-level revisions.
• Line Editing: Sentence-level refinement for clarity, tone consistency, rhythm, and stylistic uniformity across the entire manuscript. The Editor will ensure the voice aligns with the target audience and publication standards.
• Copy Editing: Thorough correction of grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and typographical errors in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition), the standard reference for United States Chicago-based publishing houses.
• Fact-Checking & Verification: Cross-referencing of cited data, statistics, quotations, and bibliographic entries against primary sources. The Editor will flag any discrepancies for client review.
• Style & Formatting Compliance: Ensuring the final document adheres to the client's house style guide or, in its absence, the Chicago Manual of Style conventions standard in the United States Chicago publishing community.
• Final Proofreading Pass: A dedicated proofreading session on the typeset or final-layout version to catch residual errors before publication or distribution.

Payment for the services described in this Quotation Estimate shall be made in accordance with the following schedule: a 30% retainer ($9,971.83) due upon execution of the service agreement; 40% ($13,295.78) due upon completion of the Line Editing phase; and the remaining 30% ($9,971.83) due upon delivery of the final proofread manuscript and editorial report. All payments are to be made via wire transfer or ACH to the Meridian Editorial Group, LLC account held at a federally insured bank in United States Chicago. Invoices are payable net fifteen (15) days from the date of issue. Late payments shall accrue interest at 1.5% per month.

1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. After the expiration date, pricing may be adjusted to reflect current market conditions for Editor services in the United States Chicago area.
2. All work performed by the Editor and the editorial team shall be conducted in strict confidence. A mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) must be executed prior to the transfer of any manuscript materials.
3. The Editor retains no ownership rights over the client's intellectual property. All deliverables, including redline documents and editorial reports, become the sole property of the client upon full payment.
4. Any scope changes, additional revision cycles, or expedited timelines requested by the client after contract execution will be subject to a written change order and additional fees as mutually agreed upon.
5. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract. A formal Service Agreement, incorporating the terms herein, must be executed by both parties before work commences.
6. Governing law for this Quotation Estimate and any resulting agreement shall be the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, with venue in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.
7. The Editor and editorial team are independent contractors of Meridian Editorial Group, LLC and are not employees of the client. No employer-employee relationship is created by this engagement.
