This Quotation Estimate is issued by ClearWord Editorial & Publishing Services, LLC, a professional editorial firm headquartered in United States Houston, Texas, to provide Mr. James R. This Quotation Estimate reflects our standard rates for Editor services delivered within the United States Houston metropolitan area and is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issuance.
The Editor engaged under this Quotation Estimate will be responsible for the following deliverables and professional tasks, all performed in accordance with the highest industry standards recognized across the United States Houston publishing community:
- Developmental Editing: A full structural review of the 92,000-word manuscript, including assessment of narrative arc, chapter organization, argument flow, and reader engagement. The Editor will provide a detailed editorial letter outlining recommended revisions.
- Line Editing: A sentence-by-sentence refinement of tone, clarity, rhythm, and consistency. The Editor will ensure the manuscript maintains a uniform voice appropriate for the target audience of business professionals in the United States Houston region and beyond.
- Copy Editing: A thorough grammatical, syntactical, and punctuation review in strict adherence to the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition. The Editor will also verify factual consistency, cross-reference accuracy, and proper citation formatting.
- Proofreading: A final pass on the typeset galley proofs to identify any residual typographical errors, formatting inconsistencies, or layout issues before the manuscript proceeds to print or digital distribution.
- Style Guide Creation: The Editor will develop a custom style guide specific to this project to ensure consistency across all future editions and supplementary materials.
- Author Consultation: Two (2) in-person consultation sessions at our United States Houston office, plus unlimited email and phone correspondence with the Editor throughout the engagement period.

The Editor will commence work within five (5) business days of contract execution. The anticipated completion schedule is as follows: Developmental Editing (Weeks 1–3), Line Editing (Weeks 4–6), Copy Editing (Weeks 7–9), Proofreading (Week 10), and final delivery of all deliverables by Week 11. All milestones will be confirmed in writing by the Editor prior to the start of each phase.
- This Quotation Estimate is non-binding until a formal service agreement is executed by both parties. The rates and scope outlined herein are contingent upon the manuscript remaining at approximately 92,000 words. Any deviation exceeding 10% will trigger a revised Quotation Estimate at no additional charge to the client.
- Payment terms: 40% deposit due upon signing, 35% due upon completion of Copy Editing, and 25% due upon final delivery of all Editor deliverables. All payments are due within fifteen (15) days of invoice date.
- All work performed by the Editor under this engagement shall be considered a "work made for hire" under applicable United States federal copyright law. Upon full payment, Whitfield Media Group, Inc. shall retain all intellectual property rights to the edited manuscript.
- The Editor agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the manuscript content, author identity, and all proprietary information shared during the engagement. A mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) will be executed prior to the commencement of work.
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issuance. Should the client wish to proceed after the expiration date, ClearWord Editorial & Publishing Services, LLC reserves the right to reissue this Quotation Estimate with updated rates.
- All services will be performed by a senior Editor with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of professional editorial experience, based in our United States Houston office. The assigned Editor will be Ms. Patricia L. Nguyen, Senior Editor and Managing Director.
- Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate or the subsequent service agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas and resolved in the courts of Harris County, United States Houston.
- Revisions beyond the scope defined in Section 2 will be billed at the Editor's standard hourly rate of $125.00 per hour, subject to prior written approval by the client.
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and authorizes ClearWord Editorial & Publishing Services, LLC to proceed with the engagement of the Editor as described herein, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in Section 5.
