The Film Director engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall provide comprehensive creative and operational leadership for the "Cape Horizon" documentary. The engagement is based in South Africa Cape Town and encompasses the following deliverables:
- Pre-production creative development, including script consultation, shot-list design, and location scouting across the Cape Town metropolitan area and surrounding Western Cape regions.
- Full on-set direction for a minimum of 22 principal photography days, covering locations in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, the Winelands, and the Overberg coast.
- Direction of cast, crew, and any non-professional interviewees in alignment with the established visual narrative.
- Collaboration with the cinematographer, production designer, and sound department to ensure cohesive artistic execution.
- Post-production oversight, including dailies review, editorial guidance, and final cut approval.
- Two (2) on-set rehearsals and one (1) full technical rehearsal prior to principal photography.

Payment for the Film Director services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall be made as follows:
- 30% deposit (R 312,052.50) due upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate and execution of the service agreement.
- 40% progress payment (R 416,070.00) due upon completion of principal photography (Day 22).
- 30% final payment (R 312,052.50) due upon delivery of the final cut and written sign-off by the client.
All payments are to be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the bank account of Atlantic Frame Productions (Pty) Ltd. Invoices will be issued in accordance with the South African National Treasury regulations. Late payments will attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, compounded monthly, as per the National Credit Act of South Africa.
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Thereafter, all rates are subject to revision based on prevailing market conditions in the South Africa Cape Town film and television industry.
- The Film Director shall be available exclusively for the "Cape Horizon" project during the agreed production window. Any cancellation by the client prior to the start of pre-production shall result in forfeiture of the 30% deposit.
- All creative decisions made by the Film Director on set are final unless otherwise agreed in writing by the client's Creative Director. The client reserves the right to request one (1) additional editorial pass at no additional cost.
- The Film Director shall comply with all applicable South African labour laws, the Film and Television Industry Bargaining Council (FTIBC) minimum wage regulations, and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) production standards where applicable.
- Intellectual property: All footage, scripts, and creative materials produced under this engagement shall become the sole property of the client upon full and final payment. The Film Director retains the right to use selected stills and behind-the-scenes material for portfolio and promotional purposes, subject to prior written approval.
- Force majeure: Neither party shall be liable for delays or non-performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather conditions common to the Cape Town region, government-imposed restrictions, or natural disasters.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until both parties have signed and returned the acceptance section below. The governing law shall be that of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court in Cape Town.
- All rates quoted are inclusive of the Film Director's professional fees, standard equipment (monitor, headphones, clapperboard), and reasonable on-set consumables. Specialised equipment, drone operation, or additional crew beyond the standard complement shall be quoted separately.
By signing below, the client acknowledges and accepts this Quotation Estimate for Film Director services in South Africa Cape Town on the terms and conditions set out above. This acceptance constitutes a binding agreement between the parties.
