This Quotation Estimate has been prepared by Sydney Geoscience Consultants Pty Ltd to provide a comprehensive and transparent cost breakdown for the engagement of a qualified Geologist and associated geological field and laboratory services. The scope of work outlined herein pertains specifically to the proposed Harbourview Mixed-Use Development project situated in the Pyrmont precinct of Australia Sydney, New South Wales. This document serves as a formal estimate of all professional fees, fieldwork costs, laboratory analyses, and reporting deliverables required to satisfy the regulatory and engineering obligations imposed by the City of Sydney Council and the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
The following services will be delivered by our senior Geologist (Mr. David Chen, MSc Geology, AIG, 18 years of experience in Australian urban geology) and his supporting team:
- Desktop Geotechnical Review: Compilation and interpretation of existing geological, hydrogeological, and geotechnical data for the Pyrmont site, including review of historical NSW Geoscience records, borehole logs, and seismic hazard maps relevant to the Australia Sydney metropolitan region.
- Field Geologist Investigation: A minimum of five (5) days of on-site fieldwork by the Geologist, including visual geological mapping, rock quality designation (RQD) assessment, identification of Sydney Basin sedimentary formations (Sydney Sandstone, Wianamatta Shale, and underlying Hawkesbury Sandstone), and documentation of any karst or fault features.
- Borehole and Trial Pit Supervision: The Geologist will supervise the drilling of four (4) rotary boreholes to a depth of 30 metres below natural ground level and two (2) trial pits to 4 metres, ensuring compliance with AS 2187-2010 (Geotechnical Site Investigations) and AS 1726-2017 (Structural Design of Buildings).
- Rock and Soil Sampling: Collection, logging, and dispatch of undisturbed and disturbed samples to an NATA-accredited laboratory in Australia Sydney for geotechnical and geochemical testing, including unconfined compressive strength, point load index, and heavy metal screening in accordance with NSW EPA guidelines.
- Hydrogeological Assessment: Installation of two (2) monitoring bores to assess groundwater conditions, seasonal water table fluctuations, and potential contamination pathways specific to the reclaimed land geology of the Pyrmont foreshore in Australia Sydney.
- Seismic and Slope Stability Review: Preliminary assessment of seismic site class in accordance with AS 1170.4-2007 and evaluation of any slope stability concerns associated with the natural sandstone escarpments adjacent to the development footprint.
- Final Geologist Report: A comprehensive geological and geotechnical investigation report (minimum 60 pages) including recommendations for foundation design, excavation support, dewatering requirements, and any environmental remediation considerations, formatted for submission to the City of Sydney Council as part of the Development Application.

- This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of ninety (90) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, all rates and costs are subject to revision due to market fluctuations, resource availability, or changes in Australian regulatory requirements.
- All fees are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of the Geologist's professional liability insurance (minimum $20 million) and public liability insurance (minimum $20 million) as required for work conducted in Australia Sydney.
- Payment terms: 30% deposit upon acceptance of this Quotation Estimate, 40% upon completion of all fieldwork, and 30% upon delivery of the final Geologist Report. All invoices are payable within fourteen (14) calendar days.
- The Geologist reserves the right to issue a revised Quotation Estimate should unforeseen subsurface conditions (e.g., unexpected karst cavities, contaminated fill, or undocumented faulting) necessitate additional investigation beyond the scope outlined in Section 2.
- All fieldwork will be conducted in strict compliance with the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW), and all applicable City of Sydney Council conditions for construction and investigation activities in Australia Sydney.
- Intellectual property: The final Geologist Report and all associated data become the property of the client upon full payment. The Geologist retains the right to use anonymised data for academic publication with prior written consent.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a contract until countersigned by both parties. Any variation to the scope of work must be agreed in writing prior to commencement of additional services.
- Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate or the subsequent engagement shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia Sydney.
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and estimated costs outlined for the engagement of the Geologist and associated geological services in Australia Sydney.
