This Quotation Estimate is issued by East African Geological & Environmental Consultants Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Consultant") in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP No. NBIDA/2025/0312) submitted by the Nile Basin Infrastructure Development Authority. The Consultant proposes to deploy a qualified Geologist and supporting field team to conduct comprehensive geological and geotechnical investigations for the proposed multi-purpose dam and road infrastructure project along the Kampala–Jinja corridor in Uganda Kampala and its surrounding districts. This Quotation Estimate covers all professional services, fieldwork, laboratory analysis, reporting, and project management activities required to deliver a complete geological assessment package.

The Geologist engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following tasks within the Uganda Kampala metropolitan area and the adjacent Jinja District:

• Desktop geological review of existing maps, borehole logs, and seismic data for the Kampala–Jinja corridor.
• Field geological mapping at 1:25,000 scale covering approximately 45 km² of the project area.
• Drilling and logging of a minimum of twelve (12) boreholes to a depth of 60 metres below ground level.
• In-situ geotechnical testing including Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Cone Penetration Tests (CPT), and vane shear tests.
• Collection and laboratory analysis of rock and soil samples for physical, chemical, and mineralogical properties.
• Groundwater hydrogeological assessment including piezometric monitoring over a 90-day period.
• Preparation of a comprehensive Geological and Geotechnical Investigation Report (GGIR) in accordance with Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) and Uganda Geological Survey and Mines Department (UGSMD) standards.
• Two (2) on-site technical review meetings with the Client's engineering team in Kampala.

Total Quotation Estimate Amount: Uganda Shillings Seven Hundred Seventy Million, Five Hundred Ninety-Nine Thousand Only (UGX 770,599,000)

The entire scope of work under this Quotation Estimate shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The Lead Geologist shall submit a detailed work plan within seven (7) days of contract commencement. Key milestones include: completion of fieldwork by Week 6, laboratory analysis by Week 9, and final GGIR submission by Week 12. All field activities will be conducted in the Uganda Kampala region, with the primary base of operations located at the Consultant's office on Kampala Road.

1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, the Consultant reserves the right to revise pricing due to fluctuations in fuel costs, laboratory rates, or exchange rates applicable in Uganda.
2. Payment terms: 30% advance payment upon signing of the contract; 40% upon completion of all fieldwork and borehole drilling; 30% upon acceptance of the final Geological and Geotechnical Investigation Report by the Client.
3. All payments shall be made in Uganda Shillings (UGX) via bank transfer to the Consultant's designated account at Stanbic Bank Uganda, Kampala Branch.
4. The Geologist and all field personnel shall comply with all applicable laws of the Republic of Uganda, including the Mines and Minerals Act (Cap 134), the Environmental Management Act (Cap 167), and the Uganda Geological Survey and Mines Department regulations.
5. The Consultant shall carry professional indemnity insurance of not less than UGX 500,000,000 for the duration of the project.
6. Any variation in scope exceeding 10% of the original Quotation Estimate value shall require a written amendment signed by both parties before additional work commences.
7. The Consultant shall not be liable for delays caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to severe weather conditions, civil unrest, or government-imposed restrictions in the Kampala area.
8. All intellectual property, data, and reports generated under this engagement shall become the property of the Client upon full payment.
9. Disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate and any resulting contract shall be resolved through arbitration in Kampala, Uganda, in accordance with the Arbitration Act (Cap 73) of Uganda.

By signing below, the Client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein. The Consultant confirms that the Geologist and all supporting personnel proposed are fully qualified, experienced, and available to commence work in Uganda Kampala within the stipulated timeframe.
