This Quotation Estimate is issued by Chronicle Media Group, LLC to formally outline the professional services, associated costs, and engagement terms for the retention of a Journalist to deliver comprehensive editorial and reporting services within the United States Houston metropolitan area. This document serves as a binding proposal once accepted by the client and is intended to provide full transparency regarding the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and financial obligations for both parties.

The Journalist engaged under this Quotation Estimate will operate primarily within the United States Houston region, covering the greater Houston area including but not limited to the downtown core, the Energy Corridor, the Medical Center district, the Port of Houston, and surrounding suburban communities. All reporting, interviews, on-site investigations, and editorial production will be conducted in accordance with the standards of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Code of Ethics and applicable Texas state media regulations.

The engagement of the Journalist under this Quotation Estimate is projected to span a period of twelve (12) weeks, commencing on July 1, 2025, and concluding on September 26, 2025. All fieldwork, reporting, and editorial production will take place within the United States Houston area unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Milestone deliverables will be submitted on a bi-weekly basis, with a final comprehensive report due no later than the last business day of the engagement period.

Acceptance: This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Acceptance must be confirmed in writing by the client's authorized representative. Upon acceptance, this document becomes a binding service agreement between Chronicle Media Group, LLC and the client.
Payment Terms: A non-refundable deposit of twenty-five percent (25%) of the total estimated cost is due upon execution of this Quotation Estimate. The remaining balance shall be invoiced in two equal installments: fifty percent (50%) due at the midpoint of the engagement (Week 6) and the final twenty-five percent (25%) due upon delivery of the final report. All payments are due within fifteen (15) business days of invoice date. Late payments shall accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month.
Scope Changes: Any modifications to the scope of work, additional reporting assignments, or extended timelines beyond the original twelve-week period will require a written amendment to this Quotation Estimate. Additional hours or services will be billed at the rates specified in Section 2.
Intellectual Property: Upon full payment, all written articles, reports, photographs, and multimedia content produced by the Journalist shall become the exclusive property of the client. Chronicle Media Group, LLC retains the right to use excerpts for portfolio and promotional purposes with proper attribution.
Confidentiality: The Journalist and all supporting staff shall adhere to strict confidentiality protocols. No source identities, unpublished findings, or proprietary client information obtained during the engagement in the United States Houston area shall be disclosed to third parties without written consent.
Compliance: All services rendered under this Quotation Estimate shall comply with applicable federal, Texas state, and Houston municipal laws, including but not limited to the Texas Public Information Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and local press access regulations.
Termination: Either party may terminate this engagement with fourteen (14) days written notice. In the event of early termination, the client shall be responsible for all services rendered and expenses incurred up to the date of termination.
Governing Law: This Quotation Estimate and any disputes arising therefrom shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, with venue exclusively in the Harris County District Courts, Houston, United States.
Limitation of Liability: Chronicle Media Group, LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the performance of services under this Quotation Estimate. Total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client under this agreement.

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate, agrees to the terms and conditions outlined herein, and authorizes Chronicle Media Group, LLC to commence the engagement of the Journalist for the services described in this document within the United States Houston area.
