This Quotation Estimate is formally issued to provide a comprehensive and transparent cost breakdown for the recruitment, placement, and ongoing professional services of a qualified Laboratory Technician to be deployed at the client's facility in Sri Lanka Colombo. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with national and international quality standards, and supporting the broader clinical and research operations of the pathology department. This document serves as the binding financial reference for both parties and outlines all associated costs, deliverables, and terms governing the engagement.
The Laboratory Technician engaged under this Quotation Estimate will perform the following duties at the designated laboratory facility in Sri Lanka Colombo:
- Conducting hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serological tests on patient samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Operating, calibrating, and performing preventive maintenance on automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Preparing reagents, culture media, and calibration standards while maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensuring strict adherence to biosafety protocols, waste disposal regulations, and the Sri Lanka National Quality Assurance Programme for laboratories.
- Documenting all test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and flagging abnormal values for physician review.
- Assisting senior laboratory scientists and pathologists with research projects, quality audits, and accreditation preparations (ISO 15189).
- Training junior staff and interns on proper specimen handling, equipment operation, and safety procedures within the Sri Lanka Colombo facility.
The Laboratory Technician proposed under this Quotation Estimate must meet the following minimum criteria:
- National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Sri Lanka.
- Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (SLMLTA).
- Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in English and Sinhala/Tamil for effective communication within the Sri Lanka Colombo healthcare environment.
- Valid first-aid certification and up-to-date immunization records as required by Sri Lankan occupational health regulations.

- Engagement Period: The initial contract for the Laboratory Technician shall be for a period of twelve (12) months, renewable upon mutual written agreement. A probationary period of three (3) months applies from the date of commencement in Sri Lanka Colombo.
- Payment Terms: The recruitment and placement fee is due within seven (7) working days of acceptance of this Quotation Estimate. Monthly salary and statutory contributions shall be remitted on or before the last working day of each calendar month via bank transfer to the account specified by the client.
- Working Hours: The Laboratory Technician shall work a standard 40-hour week (Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00) with a one-hour lunch break. On-call shifts for emergency laboratory services in Sri Lanka Colombo will be compensated at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
- Confidentiality: The Laboratory Technician is bound by a strict non-disclosure agreement covering all patient data, proprietary test methodologies, and institutional research findings in accordance with Sri Lankan data protection regulations.
- Termination: Either party may terminate the engagement with thirty (30) days' written notice. Early termination by the client prior to the completion of the initial term shall incur a pro-rata fee as detailed in the supplementary contract annexure.
- Dispute Resolution: Any disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through mediation under the auspices of the Colombo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and failing that, through the courts of competent jurisdiction in Sri Lanka Colombo.
- Governing Law: This Quotation Estimate and the resulting contract shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and financial obligations outlined herein for the engagement of the Laboratory Technician in Sri Lanka Colombo.
