This Quotation Estimate is issued by Kyoto Legal Counsel & Associates, a registered law firm operating in Japan Kyoto, to provide the Client with a detailed and transparent breakdown of all anticipated legal fees, costs, and expenses associated with the engagement of our Lawyer team for the matter described herein. This document serves as a formal Quotation Estimate and does not constitute a binding contract until both parties have executed the separate Engagement Agreement referenced in Section 7 below.
The Lawyer and associated legal professionals at our Japan Kyoto office will provide the following scope of services:
- Initial legal consultation and case assessment conducted at our Japan Kyoto premises or via secure video conference.
- Drafting, review, and negotiation of all contractual documents, correspondence, and legal filings relevant to the dispute.
- Representation of the Client before the Kyoto District Court and any applicable appellate tribunals within Japan Kyoto.
- Preparation of legal opinions, memoranda, and advisory reports tailored to the specific circumstances of the matter.
- Coordination with notaries, court clerks, and other third-party professionals as required under Japanese civil procedure law.
- Ongoing case management, status reporting, and strategic advisory throughout the duration of the engagement.
The following Quotation Estimate outlines the anticipated fees for the engagement of our Lawyer services in Japan Kyoto. All amounts are stated in Japanese Yen (JPY) and are subject to the applicable consumption tax (currently 10%) unless otherwise noted.

In accordance with the terms of this Quotation Estimate, the Client agrees to the following payment schedule for the Lawyer services rendered in Japan Kyoto:
- Retainer / Advance Payment (30%): ¥669,900 due within seven (7) business days of execution of the Engagement Agreement.
- Interim Payment (40%): ¥893,200 due upon filing of the complaint with the Kyoto District Court.
- Final Payment (30%): ¥669,900 due within fourteen (14) days of the conclusion of the matter or issuance of the final judgment, whichever occurs first.
All payments shall be made via bank transfer to the firm's designated account in Japan Kyoto. Late payments shall accrue interest at a rate of 1.5% per month as permitted under the Japanese Civil Code.
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, fees and rates may be subject to revision based on prevailing market conditions in Japan Kyoto.
- The estimated hours and fees set forth herein are good-faith projections by the Lawyer team. Actual costs may vary depending on the complexity of the matter, the number of court appearances required, and any unforeseen procedural developments.
- The Client acknowledges that the Lawyer shall not be liable for any adverse court decision or outcome. Fees are payable for services rendered regardless of the result of the litigation.
- All communications, documents, and case files related to this engagement shall be maintained in strict confidence in accordance with the Japanese Attorney's Act and the firm's internal data protection policies in Japan Kyoto.
- Either party may terminate the engagement upon thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of early termination by the Client, all fees for services rendered up to the date of termination, plus a reasonable wind-down fee, shall be due and payable.
- This Quotation Estimate shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from this document shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Japan Kyoto.
- The Lawyer reserves the right to decline or withdraw from the engagement if a conflict of interest arises or if the Client fails to comply with the terms of this Quotation Estimate.
The Client is advised that this Quotation Estimate covers the primary civil litigation matter only. Should the Client require additional legal services such as corporate restructuring, tax advisory, intellectual property protection, or international arbitration beyond the scope of Japan Kyoto jurisdiction, a separate and supplementary Quotation Estimate shall be prepared by the relevant Lawyer specialist within the firm.
All documents prepared by the Lawyer in connection with this matter shall be produced in Japanese as the official language of the courts in Japan Kyoto. English translations shall be provided for the Client's convenience at the rates specified in Item 8 of the fee table above.
By signing below, the Client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and fee structure outlined herein for the engagement of the Lawyer services in Japan Kyoto. This signature does not constitute a final engagement until the formal Engagement Agreement is executed.
