This Quotation Estimate is issued by Al-Nakheel Marine Services W.L.L. in response to the formal request for technical services pertaining to the deployment, supervision, and long-term maintenance of a qualified Marine Engineer at the Shuwaikh Port Terminal facilities located in Kuwait Kuwait City. The scope of work, pricing structure, and contractual terms outlined in this document are prepared in full compliance with the regulations of the Kuwait Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Kuwait Labour Law (Law No. 6 of 2010).

1. Scope of Services – Marine Engineer Deployment

The Marine Engineer proposed under this Quotation Estimate shall be a fully certified professional holding a valid Class 1 Marine Engineering Officer Certificate of Competency (CoC) issued by the Kuwait Maritime Authority, with a minimum of twelve (12) years of hands-on experience in the operation, maintenance, and overhaul of marine diesel engines, auxiliary power systems, HVAC units, and electrical installations aboard vessels and port-side marine infrastructure. The Marine Engineer will be stationed permanently at the client's facility in Kuwait Kuwait City for the duration of the contract period specified below.

Key responsibilities of the Marine Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Daily inspection, operation, and preventive maintenance of all marine propulsion and auxiliary machinery at the Shuwaikh Port Terminal.
  • Preparation and submission of weekly technical condition reports to the Kuwait Port Authority engineering management.
  • Coordination with shipyard contractors and OEM representatives for major overhauls and component replacements.
  • Supervision of junior technical staff and apprentices assigned to the marine engineering department.
  • Ensuring full compliance with Kuwaiti maritime safety regulations, SOLAS conventions, and environmental discharge standards applicable in Kuwait Kuwait City waters.
  • Maintenance of the vessel and equipment logbooks in accordance with Kuwait Maritime Authority record-keeping requirements.

All amounts stated in this Quotation Estimate are denominated in Kuwaiti Dinars (KWD) and are inclusive of all applicable local taxes unless otherwise noted. The total estimated cost for the full twelve-month engagement of the Marine Engineer in Kuwait Kuwait City is KWD 44,970.45 (Forty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy Kuwaiti Dinars and Forty-Five Fils).

3. Payment Terms
  • Payment shall be made in monthly installments of KWD 3,747.54 (inclusive of VAT), due on the 5th business day of each month via bank transfer to the account of Al-Nakheel Marine Services W.L.L. at National Bank of Kuwait, Branch: Mishref, Kuwait Kuwait City.
  • A mobilization advance of 15% of the total contract value (KWD 6,745.57) shall be payable within seven (7) working days of the client's written acceptance of this Quotation Estimate.
  • Any payment overdue by more than fourteen (14) calendar days shall attract a late-payment interest charge at the rate of 1.5% per month, in accordance with Kuwaiti commercial law.
4. Terms and Conditions
  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, pricing may be subject to revision due to changes in exchange rates, labour market conditions, or regulatory fees in Kuwait.
  2. The Marine Engineer shall work a standard schedule of 48 hours per week (8 hours per day, 6 days per week) in accordance with the Kuwait Labour Law. Overtime, if required, shall be compensated at 1.5 times the hourly rate and is not included in this estimate.
  3. Al-Nakheel Marine Services W.L.L. reserves the right to replace the assigned Marine Engineer with a suitably qualified alternative of equivalent or higher rank, subject to prior written approval by the client.
  4. The client shall provide a safe working environment, necessary tools, and access to all marine equipment and documentation at the Shuwaikh Port Terminal site in Kuwait Kuwait City.
  5. Either party may terminate the engagement with a written notice of thirty (30) days. In the event of early termination, the client shall be liable for all costs incurred up to the termination date, including the pro-rata portion of the end-of-service gratuity.
  6. All disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate and the subsequent service contract shall be resolved through the competent courts of Kuwait, and the laws of the State of Kuwait shall govern all interpretations.
  7. This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until a formal service agreement is executed by both parties.
5. Acceptance and Authorization

By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate for the Marine Engineer services in Kuwait Kuwait City and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing outlined herein. This signature authorizes Al-Nakheel Marine Services W.L.L. to proceed with the recruitment, visa processing, and mobilization of the Marine Engineer to the designated site.
