1. Purpose and Scope of This Quotation EstimateThis Quotation Estimate has been prepared by Apex Mechanical Engineering Ltd to provide Harbourview Industrial Group Ltd with a comprehensive and transparent cost breakdown for the engagement of a qualified Mechanical Engineer to deliver design, analysis, and commissioning services for the new automated packaging line at the client's Wynyard Quarter facility in New Zealand Auckland. This document outlines the full scope of professional services, associated costs, project timelines, and the terms and conditions governing the engagement. All pricing is quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) inclusive of GST at the current rate of 15%.
2. Scope of Mechanical Engineer ServicesThe Mechanical Engineer assigned to this project, Mr. Jonathan Tui (MEng, NZIE, 12 years' experience), will deliver the following services across the project lifecycle in New Zealand Auckland:
- Conceptual Design & Feasibility: Development of preliminary mechanical layouts, equipment selection, and process flow diagrams for the automated packaging line, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 1670 and relevant New Zealand building and safety regulations.
- Detailed Engineering Design: Production of full 3D CAD models, 2D fabrication drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and structural support calculations for all mechanical components.
- Thermal & Fluid Systems Analysis: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling and thermal analysis of the conveyor heating zones and compressed air distribution network.
- Procurement Support: Preparation of technical specifications, vendor evaluation, and material take-off schedules for all mechanical equipment and components.
- Site Supervision & Commissioning: On-site oversight of mechanical installation at the Wynyard Quarter premises, including pressure testing, alignment verification, and performance acceptance testing.
- Documentation & Handover: Compilation of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and statutory compliance certificates required by the Auckland Council.

The total estimated project duration is 17 weeks from the date of contract execution. The Mechanical Engineer will provide weekly progress reports and bi-weekly client review meetings. All site-based activities in New Zealand Auckland will be coordinated with the client's site manager to minimise disruption to ongoing operations at the Wynyard Quarter facility.
5. Terms and Conditions- This Quotation Estimate is valid for 30 calendar days from the date of issue. Should the client wish to proceed after the expiry date, a revised quotation will be required to reflect any changes in material or labour costs.
- Payment terms: 30% deposit upon contract signing, 40% upon completion of detailed design (end of Week 9), and 30% upon final commissioning and handover. All invoices are payable within 14 days of issue.
- The Mechanical Engineer shall maintain professional indemnity insurance of no less than NZD $10,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than NZD $20,000,000 throughout the project duration.
- All work shall comply with the New Zealand Building Code, AS/NZS standards, and any applicable Auckland Council bylaws. The client is responsible for obtaining all necessary resource consents and building permits.
- Any variation to the scope of work must be agreed in writing by both parties prior to commencement. Variations exceeding 10% of the total Quotation Estimate value will require a formal change order and may affect the project timeline.
- Intellectual property: All design documents, CAD files, and engineering calculations produced under this engagement shall become the property of the client upon full payment. Apex Mechanical Engineering Ltd retains the right to use anonymised project data for internal training and portfolio purposes.
- Dispute resolution: Any disputes arising from this engagement shall be resolved through mediation in New Zealand Auckland in accordance with the Disputes Standards Act 2017 before either party may initiate legal proceedings in the District Court of Auckland.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract until a formal service agreement is executed by both parties.
