This Quotation Estimate is issued by Barcelona Engineering Solutions S.L. to provide a comprehensive and binding cost proposal for the engagement of a qualified Mechatronics Engineer to support the client's industrial automation and robotics integration project located in Spain Barcelona. The scope of work described herein encompasses the full professional services of a senior Mechatronics Engineer, including on-site technical supervision, system design, commissioning, and ongoing technical consultancy for a period of twelve (12) months commencing from the date of contract execution.
The Mechatronics Engineer assigned to this project will operate primarily from the client's facility in the Zona Franca industrial district of Spain Barcelona, with the possibility of up to 15% remote work from our Barcelona Engineering Solutions S.L. office. All deliverables, reports, and technical documentation will be produced in accordance with the Spanish Industrial Code (Código Técnico de la Edificación) and applicable European Union directives governing mechatronic systems and industrial safety.
The Mechatronics Engineer engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- System Design & Architecture: Design and develop integrated mechatronic systems combining mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software components for the client's production line modernisation programme in Spain Barcelona.
- PLC & SCADA Programming: Develop, test, and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) interfaces for automated assembly and packaging units.
- Robotics Integration: Supervise the installation, calibration, and programming of industrial robotic arms (6-axis and collaborative robots) within the manufacturing environment in Spain Barcelona.
- Electrical & Pneumatic Systems: Design and oversee the implementation of electrical control panels, pneumatic actuation systems, and sensor networks compliant with IEC 61131-3 and Spanish low-voltage regulations.
- Commissioning & Testing: Lead the full commissioning process, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), ensuring all mechatronic subsystems meet the performance specifications agreed upon in the project charter.
- Technical Documentation: Produce as-built drawings, wiring diagrams, HMI/SCADA screen layouts, user manuals, and maintenance schedules in both Spanish and English.
- Preventive Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance strategy for all mechatronic equipment to minimise unplanned downtime at the Spain Barcelona facility.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, the Spanish Royal Decree 1215/1997 on industrial safety, and local Barcelona municipal regulations.

Payment for the services outlined in this Quotation Estimate shall be made in monthly instalments, invoiced in arrears on the last working day of each calendar month. The client agrees to settle all invoices within thirty (30) days of the invoice date by bank transfer to the account of Barcelona Engineering Solutions S.L. A late payment penalty of 1.5% per month (or the maximum rate permitted under Spanish law, whichever is lower) shall apply to any outstanding balance. The initial mobilisation fee of 10% of the total contract value (EUR 17,985.44) is due upon signature of the service agreement.
- This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. Beyond this period, pricing may be revised to reflect changes in labour market conditions in Spain Barcelona or fluctuations in the EUR exchange rate.
- The Mechatronics Engineer shall be subject to the client's site safety regulations, including mandatory PPE, induction training, and compliance with the Spanish Occupational Risk Prevention Law (Ley 31/1995).
- Barcelona Engineering Solutions S.L. shall provide full professional indemnity insurance (minimum EUR 2,000,000 per claim) and employer's liability insurance for the duration of the engagement.
- All intellectual property developed specifically for the client under this Quotation Estimate shall vest in the client upon full payment. General methodologies, tools, and know-how retained by the Mechatronics Engineer remain the property of Barcelona Engineering Solutions S.L.
- Either party may terminate the engagement with sixty (60) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the client shall pay for all services rendered up to the termination date.
- This Quotation Estimate is governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent courts of Barcelona, Spain.
- Confidentiality: Both parties agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all technical data, trade secrets, and business information exchanged during the course of this engagement, in accordance with the Spanish Data Protection Act (LOPDGDD) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
By signing below, the client acknowledges receipt of this Quotation Estimate and agrees to the terms, conditions, and pricing set forth herein for the engagement of the Mechatronics Engineer in Spain Barcelona. This document, once countersigned by both parties, shall constitute a binding service agreement.
