Scope of Work – Oceanographer Services in Brazil, Rio de JaneiroThis Quotation Estimate covers the full professional engagement of a lead Oceanographer, supported by a field research team, to perform the following activities within the jurisdictional waters and coastal zones of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil:
- Conducting hydrographic and bathymetric surveys along the Guanabara Bay and the offshore continental shelf extending from the city of Rio de Janeiro to the São Pedro and São Paulo Archipelago.
- Performing water quality sampling and analysis at a minimum of 25 designated stations across the coastal zone of Rio de Janeiro, including measurements of salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, and nutrient concentrations.
- Deploying and maintaining oceanographic mooring buoys equipped with CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, Depth) profilers and current meters for a continuous monitoring period of 90 days.
- Executing sediment core sampling and benthic ecological assessments in designated areas of the Rio de Janeiro continental shelf to evaluate long-term environmental changes.
- Producing a comprehensive technical report in Portuguese and English, including all raw data, processed datasets, cartographic outputs, and scientific recommendations for the Instituto de Pesquisas Oceânicas do Rio de Janeiro.
- Providing two on-site technical presentations to the client's scientific committee in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, upon completion of the fieldwork and data analysis phases.

- This Quotation Estimate is valid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Any acceptance beyond this period is subject to re-evaluation of pricing due to potential fluctuations in fuel costs, vessel charter rates, and exchange rates applicable to operations in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro.
- Payment terms: 30% advance payment upon contract signing, 40% upon completion of all fieldwork activities in the waters of Rio de Janeiro, and 30% upon delivery and acceptance of the final technical report by the client's scientific committee.
- All payments shall be made in Brazilian Reais (BRL) via bank transfer to the account of Marine Sciences Consulting Group Ltda., Banco do Brasil, Ag. 1234, Conta 56789-0, CNPJ 12.345.678/0001-90.
- The Oceanographer and field team shall comply with all applicable Brazilian federal and state environmental regulations, including those enforced by IBAMA, the Marinha do Brasil, and the state environmental agency of Rio de Janeiro (INEA).
- Any additional scope of work, extended fieldwork duration, or changes to the operational area within or beyond the Rio de Janeiro coastal zone shall be subject to a supplementary Quotation Estimate and written approval by both parties.
- All data, reports, and intellectual property generated under this engagement shall become the exclusive property of the client upon full payment. The Oceanographer and consulting firm retain the right to publish anonymized scientific findings in peer-reviewed journals, subject to a 60-day prior review by the client.
- Force majeure events, including but not limited to severe weather conditions affecting the Atlantic coast of Rio de Janeiro, regulatory suspensions, or public health emergencies, shall extend the project timeline proportionally without additional cost to the client.
- This Quotation Estimate does not constitute a binding contract. A formal service agreement shall be executed by both parties prior to the commencement of any oceanographic fieldwork in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro.
