This Quotation Estimate is issued in response to the formal request submitted by the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa Johannesburg, for the engagement of a Professor to deliver a comprehensive suite of academic, research, and consultancy services during the 2025/2026 academic year. The Professor engaged under this Quotation Estimate shall provide expert-level instruction, supervisory support, and institutional advisory services aligned with the strategic objectives of the Faculty and the broader University of Johannesburg.

The scope of work outlined in this Quotation Estimate encompasses all deliverables, time commitments, and associated costs required to fulfil the Professor's contractual obligations. All rates quoted are inclusive of the Professor's professional expertise, preparation time, and administrative support, unless otherwise stated. This Quotation Estimate is binding upon acceptance by both parties and shall govern the professional relationship for the duration specified herein.

All amounts are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR). VAT is applied at the standard rate of 15% as prescribed by the South African Revenue Service (SARS). This Quotation Estimate does not include any costs related to laboratory consumables, software licences, or third-party publication fees, which shall be billed separately upon prior written approval.

The total amount specified in this Quotation Estimate shall be payable in four (4) equal quarterly instalments, due on the 1st of January, April, July, and October 2025 respectively. Each instalment shall amount to R 318,164.75 (inclusive of VAT). Payment shall be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT) to the University of Johannesburg's designated account. Late payments shall attract interest at the rate of 1.5% per month, compounded monthly, in accordance with the University of Johannesburg's financial policies and the National Treasury's regulations applicable to public sector procurement in South Africa Johannesburg.

4.1 This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) calendar days from the date of issue. Acceptance beyond this period requires written reconfirmation of all rates and terms.

4.2 The Professor shall adhere to the University of Johannesburg's Code of Conduct, Research Ethics guidelines, and all applicable South African legislation, including the Higher Education Act (Act 101 of 1997) and the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA).

4.3 Any changes to the scope of work outlined in this Quotation Estimate must be agreed upon in writing by both parties prior to implementation. Amendments shall be documented in a formal Variation Order and may result in an adjusted Quotation Estimate.

4.4 The Professor retains full intellectual property rights over original research findings, with the University of Johannesburg holding a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for academic and institutional use.

4.5 Either party may terminate this engagement with thirty (30) days' written notice. In the event of termination, the Professor shall be compensated for all services rendered up to the date of termination, as calculated in accordance with the rates specified in this Quotation Estimate.

4.6 All disputes arising from this Quotation Estimate shall be resolved through mediation in South Africa Johannesburg, in accordance with the rules of the South African Dispute Resolution Centre, before any matter is referred to the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.

By signing below, both parties confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to all terms, conditions, and financial obligations set forth in this Quotation Estimate. This document constitutes a binding agreement upon execution by both signatories.
