This Quotation Estimate has been prepared by Meridian Digital Design Studio Ltd to provide Northgate Retail Group Ltd with a comprehensive, itemised financial proposal for the engagement of a senior UX UI Designer to lead the complete user experience and user interface redesign of the Northgate e-commerce platform. All pricing, deliverables, and timelines outlined in this document are specific to work conducted within the United Kingdom London metropolitan area, reflecting local market rates, statutory obligations, and the professional standards expected of design practitioners operating in this jurisdiction.

We are pleased to present this Quotation Estimate as a transparent and detailed breakdown of costs associated with our UX UI Designer services. Our team has reviewed the preliminary requirements document submitted by your project team on 28 May 2025 and has structured this proposal to address every phase of the design lifecycle, from initial research through to final handover of production-ready assets.

The UX UI Designer engaged under this Quotation Estimate will deliver the following services, all performed in accordance with the Design Council UK Code of Practice and applicable United Kingdom accessibility legislation (Equality Act 2010, WCAG 2.2 AA compliance):

2.1 Discovery and Research Phase

Conduct stakeholder interviews, user persona development, competitive audit of five (5) direct competitors operating in the United Kingdom London retail sector, and a comprehensive heuristic evaluation of the existing platform. Deliverables include a Research Findings Report (minimum 40 pages) and a prioritised list of UX pain points.

2.2 Information Architecture and Wireframing

Develop a complete site map, user flow diagrams for all primary and secondary journeys, and low-fidelity wireframes for a minimum of twenty-five (25) unique screen templates. All wireframes will be presented in Figma with annotated specifications suitable for developer handover.

2.3 High-Fidelity UI Design and Design System

Produce high-fidelity visual designs for all twenty-five (25) screen templates, a fully documented design system including a component library (minimum 120 components), typography scale, colour palette with accessibility contrast ratios, iconography set, and micro-interaction specifications. The UX UI Designer will conduct two (2) rounds of usability testing with a panel of ten (10) participants recruited from the United Kingdom London area.

2.4 Prototyping and Developer Handover

Build an interactive, clickable prototype in Figma covering all critical user journeys. Prepare a developer handover package including annotated screens, asset exports (SVG, PNG, WebP), CSS variable tokens, and a written interaction specification document. The UX UI Designer will attend a minimum of four (4) sprint review sessions with the development team during the first two sprints of implementation.

In accordance with the terms of this Quotation Estimate, payment shall be structured as follows:

  • 25% (£15,738.00) – Due upon execution of the service agreement and commencement of the Discovery phase.
  • 25% (£15,738.00) – Due upon approval of the Wireframing deliverables.
  • 25% (£15,738.00) – Due upon delivery of the High-Fidelity Design System and completion of Usability Testing.
  • 25% (£15,738.00) – Due upon final Developer Handover and conclusion of the Post-Launch Support period.

All invoices are payable within thirty (30) calendar days of the invoice date. Late payments shall accrue interest at the rate of 4% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, as applicable in the United Kingdom.

  1. This Quotation Estimate is valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue. After this period, rates and availability of the UX UI Designer may be subject to revision.
  2. All intellectual property rights in the final deliverables shall transfer to Northgate Retail Group Ltd upon receipt of full and final payment. Meridian Digital Design Studio Ltd retains the right to display the work in its portfolio with prior written consent.
  3. The UX UI Designer shall comply with all applicable United Kingdom data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, particularly with respect to any personal data collected during usability testing sessions conducted in the United Kingdom London area.
  4. Any changes to the scope of work beyond the parameters defined in Section 2 shall be subject to a written change order and a revised Quotation Estimate prior to commencement of the additional work.
  5. This engagement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom London.
  6. The UX UI Designer shall maintain professional indemnity insurance of no less than £5,000,000 and public liability insurance of no less than £10,000,000 for the duration of the engagement.
  7. Meridian Digital Design Studio Ltd reserves the right to decline or withdraw this Quotation Estimate at any time prior to formal acceptance by the client.

This Quotation Estimate assumes that the client will provide timely access to all necessary business data, brand guidelines, and existing platform documentation. The following are excluded from the quoted amount: copywriting and content creation, backend development, third-party plugin or tool licensing beyond those listed in Item 8, and any work required to remediate pre-existing accessibility non-compliance in legacy systems not part of the redesign scope.

By signing below, the parties confirm their acceptance of this Quotation Estimate and agree to be bound by the terms, conditions, and pricing set out herein. The engagement of the UX UI Designer shall commence no earlier than the date of the later signature.
